Chapter 10 A walk through the woods

Jace's P.O.V.
I woke up in my tent to see my three Pokémon sleeping,Pixel was laying right next to Dante. I assume because she had gotten cold. While Tori was laying beside me grabbing onto my hand like her life depended on it. "Tori wake up kiddo." She opened her eyes and looked at me. It seemed to instantly calm her down. "Are you having nightmares kiddo?" She nodded. "I mean,I can't really blame you. How about me and you go for a walk,huh?" She jumped up onto my shoulder. "I'll take that as a yes. Dante,Pixel return." They both went into their Pokéballs. I walked out of my tent after getting out of my pajamas. Me and Tori had woken up before anyone else,which to be honest had become the norm. We were walking along the path,until I head some rustling coming from the bushes. "Tori get ready." She jumped down from my shoulder,and looked ready to fight. A girafarig of a bizarre color had jumped out,its front half,and back half looked like they had switched color pallets. It's eyes seems to glitter like emeralds. "Woah easy,easy buddy,what's wrong?" Suddenly a couple of guys wearing these weird uniforms. They were wearing the same get up with this weird logo. A pin that resembled a Flygon's wing was on their jackets. "Hey Kid,if your smart,you'll back away from the off color,and forget this ever happened." I felt the joints in my prosthetic tense up. "Tori,use Dazzling gleam!" She shot out a bright light. I grabbed her,and we lead the girafarig back to camp.

By the time we got back to camp the girls were awake. "Jace who do you have there?" Sonja chimed in. "Sonja sarcasm is not needed at this moment in time." Solara walked forward and looked at the girafarig I found. "A switched palette Girafarig. But the poor thing looks like it's been starved. Jace,where did you find it." Suddenly the two goons busted into our campsite. "YOUR FRIENDS CANT PROTECT YOU KID." They reached for Pokéballs on their belts. "Go Fletchinder!" "Alright Haunter lets go!" Their Pokémon seemed to be angry. "I see you need some help Jace. Lilli,Solara let's fight some thugs." Lilli sent out Laila,Sonja sent out Shredder,and Solara sent out Monty. "Sonja Solara take on the guy with the flerchinder. Lilliana let's take out his Haunter." The Girafarig stood behind me his legs quivering beneath him. "Tori hit this Haunter with an Icy Wind!" "Laila hit it with an Ember!" It seemed recently that Lilli was struggling with her confidence. Like recently it would only come out in battle.

"Haunter Use Dark Pulse!" His Haunter let out a deep growl like sound,and a shockwave of dark energy came out of him. "Tori,Return! Dante take flight,and hit that sucker with an Ember!" His bulb popped open,however his attack was different. Instead of shooting out a single flame,he started shooting them rapid fire,and at a much larger size. I pulled out my Dex,and saw that his move Ember had been replaced with Searing Shot. When it hit the Haunter it was noticeably weaker. "Grr." The Hunter looked back at his partner and saw that he was struggling as well. "RETREAT PROTOCOL! HAUNTER USE SHADOW SNEAK!" His Haunter disappeared a weird brace on the guy's arm glowed,as well as on his partner's arm,and they were gone in a flash. "THAT'S RIGHT YOU'D BETTER RUN!" I turned around to see the girafarig relieved. "Hey buddy." I pulled some Sitrus berries out of my bag. "Here pal eat up." He started scarfing them down,without hardly taking time for breath. "So Jace,explain what happened."

10 minutes later

Everyone was quiet. "So,you,and Tori were walking along,and you came across this Girafarig running front those creeps?" Sonja asked. "Yup,but what was with that weird tech they used to retreat like that. Solara do you think it might be possible to track them? They have to have some form of base camp around here right?" Solara quickly jotted down what she could from a passing glance at their tech. "It appears that they both had some kind of link with that Haunter through their bracelets. I assumed if necessary they could've done the same trick with the Fletchinder. Maybe if we used a Pokémon that has Shadow sneak we could trace them?" I reached for the Pokéball. "Alright your time to shine Pixel!" She came out in a flash of light. But she could automatically tell something was wrong. "So what're we gonna do about the Switch palette?" The little guy looked directly at me I could tell what was going through his head. "I'll take him. After all me and Tori found him,he might as well stick with us." I pulled out a Friend Ball. He pressed his snout against the button,and went in. I sent him back out,and tied a Green Bandana with the Rangers of Ahnma logo on it around his neck. "Alright,let's go find these jokers,and make them pay for messing with us,and Contro. Lead the way Pix!"

We rushed through the woods,pixel turned about where Contro had jumped out of the bushes. "Come on guys!" We followed pixel all the way to this massive clearing. There was at least 20 different tents,as well as a massive shelter with what looked to be a large antenna coming out of the top,there were also a lot of cages all over the place each one had a Pokémon indigenous to the woods. "There they are!" The two thugs that attacked us were standing towards the larger structure,they had a small group of others with them. One of them looked to be the one in charge. He had a bandana covering his mouth,and bandages going all the way up his left forearm. His eyes seemed to be the same shade of red as a Midnight lycanroc's. "Well,well,well. Your the one who gave my grunts so much trouble?" I clenched my fist,I could tell this was gonna be a fight. "Your the kid of the Former head Ranger right? Is that why your doing this? Because you feel what we're doing here is wrong?" I reached for Tori's and Contro's Pokéballs. "Tori,Contro! Come on out guys!" They both came out. Whenever Contro appeared the guy in charge gave me a glare. "Grunts handle the kids friends. That kid is MINE." He rushed at me. "Luca,Bloodmoon take care of his Pokémon!" A Lycanroc and a Black Lunatone came out of the pokeballs on his belt. The lunatone's eyes were closed,which I honestly thought was weird. The guy swung at me with his left arm. I blocked with my prosthetic. "Wow your pretty strong there Dog boy." I grabbed his arm and flipped him over onto his back. He kicked me in the chest and got back up. "Your not too bad yourself kid. Time for a power boost. Blood moon open up!" The Lunatone's eyes opened to reveal that they were blood red,with white pupils. His Lycanroc suddenly got more wild looking and reckless. The wraps on the guys arm started to rip. Stones like his Lycanroc's started to jutt outta his arms the bandana wrapped around his face fell off,his jaw looked just like his Lycanroc's. "You've messed with the wrong Fallen Executive." I had to think of a way to cover that Lunatone's eyes otherwise this was gonna go south real quick. The Lycan rushed at me. "GRRAGH!" He bit down on my arm. I punched him in the jaw. "Oof,that Arm of yours can sure pack a punch huh?" "Tori! Use Icy wind on the Lunatone! Blind it!!" The Lycanroc stood in the way of Tori's attack. It than shook off the frost and tried to attack Tori. "TORI DODGE IT!" It was too late the Lycanroc was practically on top of her. But outta nowhere this blue energy appeared around it and froze it in place. I noticed that Contro's eyes were glowing green. The Lycanroc was than thrown right into the Lunatone. "Contro! Use Return!!" His eyes stopped glowing,and he rushed at both of them and proceeded to beat the tar outta the two of them. "Dante! Now help out Contro and use Searing Shot!!" My partner shot out fire from his bulb. Whenever it made contact with the Lunatone both the Lycanroc and their trainer turned back to normal. "Grrrr. Grunts! We're outta here,extraction,protocol!" The guy with the Haunter from earlier did the same thing but this time all of them disappeared. We started to break open the cages. Afterwards we headed back to our campsite,had breakfast and continued on our way to Drift City.

Lycan's P.O.V.
"Boss! We had some difficulties at the base in the Shire Woods." The commander looked at me. His Flygon was glaring at me with murderous intent. "Lycan,what exactly happens out there?" I was shaking. "It was that Ranger Brat again. He got in our way,I promise the next time I see him,we won't let him get in our way again." The commander turned towards me. "Next time you see him,END him. Am I clear?" I left his office,and left him alone.
