Chapter 11 Where theres Smoke

Jace's P.O.V.
I woke up in my tent to see,Dante's bulb was glowing much brighter than normal. "Dante? You alright buddy?" Suddenly we heard footsteps outside the tent. "That's weird,the girls don't normally wake up this early... Dante Get ready for a fight." I saw the shape of a person with a Pokémon by their side outside my tent. "DANTE USE SEARING SHOT!" He fired outta the door,and hit his target. "AHHH,Brigaderio! Use Vacuum wave!!"

"Wait a minute.... Lance?" The trainer looked into my tent and saw me inside. "Jace! I haven't seen you since I left Coronos town. How've you been pal?" Sonja walked out of her tent. "Come on Jace,its barely 7 AM!" Lilliana followed her out. "What the heck is going on out here!?" I grabbed my belt and bag,and got outta the tent. "Oh right,Lilli,Solara this is Lance,he was one of the kids that got a starter,and a Pokédex from Prof.Magnolia." He reached down to pay his partner on the head. "And this,is my partner Brigaderio,me and him were just on our way to Maira City,because we just got back from beating the gym leader in Drift City. Hey Jace,how about we have a battle to see who's stronger?" I nodded. "Sure thing Lance,let's do this."

We made our way to a clearing nearby,Solara stood to the sidelines to be the ref. "Alright,we'll be having a 3 on 3 battle. The trainer with the last Pokémon standing wins."

"Sounds good to me." We both looked at Solara. "Alright,the battle between Jace,and Lance is about to begin!" He reached for a pokeball off of his belt. "Alright,go for it CloudJumper!!" He sent out a weird looking Dratini,but it had webbed wings on either side of its lengthy body. "Wow,let's see what this things all about." My Pokédex glowed to life. "Dratini:Wingmate Variant. These Pokémon are the result of breeding between A female Dragonite,and a male Crobat. They primarily live in Caves near the ocean,when people see these Pokémon,they are often are referred to as the living breeze."

"Okay than. Let's go Tori!!!" She came out of her Pokéball raring to go. "Cloudjumper! Use steel wing!" Lance's dratini rushed at Tori full force. "Tori!Jump up and use Icy Wind!!" She jumped up but before she could let out Icy wind Cloudjumper changed mid course,and slammed his wings into Tori's stomach,knocking her back by about 3 feet. "Tori,use Daing gleam!" She formed a small sphere between we hands and threw it into the air where it burst into a blinding light. I slipped my goggles on over my eyes so I could see her. "Alright Tori now use Icy Wind right above you!" She breathed out,and the blinding light ceased,but it was too late for Lance to call out an attack. Cloudjumper was (pun intended) Stopped Cold in his tracks. "Cloudjumper Return!" Lance reached for a dusk ball off his belt. "Let's do this,Go for it Loki!" He sent out an Off Color Zorua,its primary fur color was brown like Milk Chocolate,its eyes were a sky blue,and the part that was normally red,was a vibrant green color. Around it's heck was a necklace that had a pendant resembling a small helmet with curved back horns. "Loki,Go and use Sludge Bomb,and than follow it up with a Shadow Claw!" In a flash his Zorua disappeared,a blob of poison was launched at Tori outta nowhere,suddenly a pair of shadowy claws appeared and slashed Tori across her chest. Tori was knocked out. Loki faded back into existence,in the blink of an eye. "So,you trained Your Zorua's transformative abilities to where it can render itself invisible to the human eye. Clever move Lance." I reached for Pixel's ball. "Alright Pixel,lets leave 'me in shock!" The fur towards her tail started to spike up,and her eyes seemed to glow with an eerie blue color. "Ooh,cool looking Shinx Jace. But can it keep up with Loki?" I gave Pixel a look,and the gleam in her eyes said something along the lines of 'lets mop the floor with these guys!' "Pixel,Time for our disappearing act!" She phased into the ground,good thing that the clearing had a canopy. "Loki time to disappear as well!" His Zorua vanished into thin air. But I saw that Pixel was tailing that fox of his step by step. "PIXEL USE DISCHARGE!!" Black electricity burst out of the ground and we saw his Zorua reel back in pain from the electricity. His Zorua was knocked out,and Pixel was standing there without a scratch on her. "Impressive Fake out Jace,especially since it's Overcast out,I couldn't tell that Pixel was tailing Loki." He grabbed a standard Poké Ball,from his belt. "Lest do this partner! Go for it Brig!" He sent out his riolu,it spread its wings outward,and soared upwards. "Quite the flashy fella ya got there,eh Lance?" He grinned. "He's flashy but he sure as hell can kick some tail. Alright Brig,use Aerial Ace,and Vacuum wave special!" Brig dove head first at pixel,with wind streaming off of his back,his palms started to glow a bright orange color. It made direct contact with pixel,which shocked me,technically speaking he shouldn't have been able to touch her regardless of the type combo he used. "Pixel is unable to batt-." Pixel stood back up her legs quivering,and her eyes watering. "Pix,just come back,your hurt,and the last thing I want to do is have you hurt permanently." She looked back at me,and limped towards me. "Pixel,return kiddo." I grabbed for Dante's Poké ball. I could feel it brimming with heat,I could tell he was mad,and was itching for a rematch. "Alright Dante! Let's show this flashy fighter,what some form can do!" With a blast of light,and Heat,Dante came out of his ball. I could tell,he wasn't just venting energy,he was burning with rage. Brig had a smug look on his face,thinking that he knew his opponent. "Dante! Time for Searing winds!" Wind,and spores were released from his wings,and his fur. Brig stood there unaware of what was gonna happen. He ran forward into the spores. "Alright buddy,LIGHT IT UP!" Dante fired a Searing Shot from his bulb the spores Ignited,but the dirt in the clearing kept the fire from spreading. "You alright in there Brig!?" His Riolu wasn't even touched by the fire,I figured as much  given that it knows Vacuum Wave. "Alright Brig! Aerial Ace!" He rushed at Dante at a breakneck pace. He nearly made contact with him before Dante jumped backward with his wings spread outward. "Dante! Now use Searing shot,Gatling!!" Dante was shooting out flames from his bulb left and right,Brig was still trying his darndest to make contact. "Dante now! Fly upward and use take down on top of Brig!" Dante did as I ordered,but Brig punched upward upon the moment of impact. He cracked the scale in the middle of Dante's forehead. Dante was lying still on the ground,blood coming from his forehead. "Dante!" I ran over to him,with a cloth ready to try and stop the bleeding. But the heat from his bulb already Cauterized the wound. He stood back up,and light started to beam off of him. "Woah,he's,evolving!" His wings spread outward and at least doubled in size,as did his body,but his bud bloomed,only slightly. To reveal some of the plant life inside. The wound was now a scar. Splitting the scale practically right down the middle. "Ready to finish this buddy!?" He looked back at me,with a grin. "Dante! Use Silver Wind!" The spores shot outward from his fur,as well as the plant within his bulb.  It knocked back Brig into a tree. Knocking him out. "And the Winner of this 3 on 3 battle is Jace!!" I looked over at Lance,he was happy with the battle,even though he lost. "Wanna join us for Breakfast Lance?" He grinned. "Yeah that sounds great." After breakfast we went on our separate ways, it's nice to know that he's doing okay.
