"If this isn't love, tell me what it is
'Cause I never felt like this baby
If this isn't love
L-O-V-E, what is in me
L-O-V-E, oh if this isn't love..."
Jennifer Hudson- If This Isn't LoveJordan
Marcus and I stepped out of his Maybach and walked into the indoor playhouse. Today was his baby girl Madison's birthday. Initially I didn't want to come, but because Marcus personally invited me, I couldn't decline.
I didn't want to be around his stupid ass baby momma and I definitely didn't want to be around all of these damn kids all day. But because it was Marcus, I would have to suck it up. Marcus rented out the entire establishment just so that his princess could play with any and everything she wanted. He was a great dad.
There was a live DJ, cotton candy machines, popcorn machines, face painting and anything else you can imagine a child would love. Kids were running around, screaming and laughing.
I grabbed Marcus hand tightly as we walked through the door. Silently saying a prayer hoping things went good today.
"Wassup M, Where's my princess?" Marcus walked over to Miracle (Madison's mom) who was sitting at one of the tables with her friends.
"Well hello to you too, Marcus." She spoke before looking over at me. "Oh wow. You brought your friend.
"Don't start your shit, Miracle. It's way too many kids in here and I paid too much damn money for this party to be ruined because you wanna be petty." Marcus quickly read that hoe. That's right baby. I smirked looking at her. She was a cute girl, but she was a hater.
Miracle eyes widened at his comment but she quickly fixed her face and then pointed over to where Madison was getting her face painted. "No need to get all snappy. I was just playing. She's over there." She added.
Marcus didn't answer, instead he turned away from her and walked over to where Madison was sitting still getting her face painted. The theme of the party was the movie "Trolls". Little Maddy was dressed as the "Poppy" troll. She even had the pink crazy wig and the same costume the character wore.
"Is that my princess, getting her face painted?" Marcus asked as we approached the table.
"Daddy!" Madison squealed jumping up.
"Oh, wait!" The woman said who was painting her face.
"Wait baby. Sit down. Daddy's not going anywhere. Finish getting your face painted." Marcus told her.
"Okay." She said sitting down and letting the woman finish painting her face.
We were a little late -an hour exactly- to the party because Marcus had a few things to do before the party. He wanted to get those things out of the way before he spent the rest of his day with Madison.
"You hungry?" Marcus turned to ask me.
"Not really. But I do want to get some cotton candy." I grinned
"Maddy, I'll be back." He told her before we walked over to the cotton candy machine.
After getting my cotton candy we sat down at a table that wasn't too far from Madison. "Thanks for coming out with me. I know you don't really do the kid shit. So it means a lot that you came." Marcus said looking at all of the kids run around.
"Yeah.. I mean.. I like Maddy though. She's so cute and she's a good kid." I said pulling apart the sticky cotton candy.
"Yeah, even though Miracle needs a little help with her own behavior she's doing a good job with raising my princess."
