Persephone stood in front of a mirror, looking over her features one last time. Her flowing blonde hair was curled to perfection, her lavender dress grazing against her knees. Hidden underneath were her beige tights and her snow-white shoes. Giving one short nod at herself, she began for the door. It was finally Saturday, meaning it was the first Slug Club dinner. Persephone understood why some students thought it was boring, but the young girl always found professor Slughorn quite entertaining. Walking through the dungeon, she arrived. Opening the door into the office, the young girl smiled at the students already sat at the table.

"Miss Bell! So glad you could make it! Come, take a seat," Professor Slughorn exclaimed, pointing at the empty chairs around the table. Finding a seat in between Annabeth and Cedrella, she straightened out her dress. "Now, what were we talking about?" Professor Slughorn paused for a moment, attempting to recall what the table had been chatting about. "Ah, yes. I was just about to ask you, Lawrence, what is it that your father does?"

"He's an Auror, sir. He's in France at the moment," The Gryffindor boy responded, earning a gasp from Persephone.

"France? Aren't there wizarding riots everywhere?" The young girl asked, from what her parents had told her, France and Germany were two of the most dangerous places to at the moment.

"Yeah, they sent some Aurors there to arrest suspected criminals who are hiding in the groups." The boy replied, causing Persephone to frown.

"I feel bad. My family moved here for a reason. Things have been tense there since 1933." Persephone told him genuinely. At this point, the room had filled, and all the expected guests had arrived. This included Tom, who had taken a seat in between Joseph and Abraxas, across from Persephone.

"Hold on. After all these years, I've never noticed... Are you french?" Professor Slughorn asked the girl.

"Yes, my mother went to Beuxbatton. My father met her on a business trip. After an outbreak of Dragon Pox, my father and his coworkers had to supply a few french hospitals with dragon pox remedies and pepper-up potions." The girl told the group. "We moved here when I was six."

"That's six years after the war broke out. Is that why?" Minerva spoke up, suddenly curious about the girl.

"Yes. My parents thought it would be best for us to move away before the war got too far west," The blonde replied. Her hands were beginning to get clammy since she was not used to talking about that year. After all, it was one of the hardest years of her life.

Eventually, the conversation changed courses, and the group began to talk about the quidditch season.

"Who are you betting on this season? I'm betting on Appleby. I reckon they'll be making it to the British and Irish finals this year." Joseph spoke up, proud of his favourite team.
