My nightmare turned lover

Chapter- 6

Astha's POV:-

" Good morning sir. I....." I stopped when I saw him stumbled upon the carpet and was on his way falling down face front on the floor. I caught him before he made impact on the tiled floor. " Oh my god! Are you alright?" I asked him.

" Yes, yes absolutely. Thank you for saving me from that fall. " Jatin Sir smiled lightly at me but his smile didn't had the usual chimes in it. Infact his face was dull devoid of the glow that was usually there. Despite of his age, he usually looked like he is in his late 20's without any wrinkles. But today his face was showing his age with light wrinkles and dark circles surrounding his eyes.

" Sorry but I don't think that you are okay sir. " Despite the fact that he is my boss, I was a lot informal with him. These past few months we have got really  close. He treats me like his own daughter and he too became a fatherly figure for me.

One day while working I happened to reveal that I was an orphan and that I really wanted to feel what it was like to have a family as it was years since I had one. That day Jatin Sir took me to his house and introduced me to his wife Anita. There I got to know that they were childless. I felt very bad for them as they both were very kind hearted. From then onwards both Jatin Sir and Anita aunty treated me like their own child. There were times when he use to bring home cooked food for me saying his wife wanted to prove that she was a brilliant cook by making me taste them as he always says that she was not an efficient cook. But deep down she and me both knew that he was only teasing her as they both love each other dearly. But I know very well that it was just an excuse so they can make me eat healthy food as they knew that I survive on a very poor diet due to lack of money. Sometimes only two slices of bread and a coffee was all that gets me going through the whole day.

Now you may be thinking that why she is saying that she didn't get enough food as she gets her salary now, right? Yeah I do get my salary but a huge part of it is used in paying off my debts to the bank. And after paying off my rents and bill which by the way I was finally able to pay without any delay, I hardly had any left. And I started saving one-fourth part of it too as I believe that anything can happen to anyone anywhere, so I better be prepared for it. After all life gave me so many lemons that by now I have learnt that you can't simply make lemonades out of them!

" Is aunty's health has gotten more worse?"

Anita aunty was not well these past few days. I thought that she was feeling better as she sounded fine when I last called her...umm maybe two days ago.

" Yes, her condition has gotten worse. I'm thinking of taking a break from here and give my time to her. You know like going with her to the hospital and taking care of her needs and of the house too, the same way she was doing this entire time. I think it's time to give her a break too." He smiled ruefully at me.

" That's sounds good. And don't worry she will get well soon and be like the way she was really soon." I tapped in his hand assuring him of my words.

" Thank you. Okay now I have to leave as I have to inform about this to boss."

" Sure sir. I too am leaving as I have a lot of work to do. Bye sir."

Jatin Sir's POV:-

" But sir she is the best."

"I told you I want an efficient PA just like you who can handle my work as efficiently as you do and certainly I don't want a girl. They are so clingy and I can't stand them and you know that very well."

" But sir, I have seen her in the past few months. Trust me sir, she is very honest, dependable and talented. And she does every work that is given to her with dedication and not to forget effeciently too."

" But she is lacking experience. I mean she just joined us a few months ago. So how can you expect that she is a perfect fit for handling your position in your absence? "

" Trust me sir on this and if she doesn't live up to your expectation then I will cut my leave short."

" Okay, if you say so. And by the way your wife's medical expenses are on the company. " saying this he made a gesture that this topic is dismissed and that I can go now.

" Thank you sir. I know Astha will not disappoint you." saying this I left from his cabin.

Now the only thing left for me to do before leaving is to inform Astha about it. I'm sure she will be very excited once she hears this news. I know how much she loves challenges.

30 minutes later....

" But sir are you sure you want me to do this? I doubt I can handle your job."

" You can. I have full faith in you. And if you listen to me then I would advise you to take this offer as opportunities doesn't knocks twice."

After a few seconds her face glowed with happiness and determination.

" Okay sir, I am ready." she said with full confidence.

This is the trait that I like the best in her. She is confident and talented and I am sure she will never make me regret this decision.

With that I started to brief my work to her.
