Protector~

~Elizabeth's POV~

I still cannot believe that I had only known him for less than an hour, and he still protected me with all his might. That warmed my heart so much, he's so kind, and I already feel safe around him. The thing is, I wouldn't want to be clingy already! It hasn't even been a day.

Although, Ban calling me Meliodas's girlfriend makes me blush. I have no idea why. Maybe it's the embarrassment? Not that it would be embarrassing!

"Hey Elizabeth, you okay?" I hear a familiar voice ask. Him again, the person who was there for me.

"Yeah..just wondering, why did you protect me, when we haven't even known each other for an hour?" I respond, whilst still walking at the same pace as him, side by side.

"You're worth protecting, I can see you've got a kind heart."

"A-also...are those girls always like that?"

I would hope not. I wonder why people even have the audacity to do such things to other people. We all have feelings, afterall.

"Well, Liz is my ex...she cheated on me. I should have known how nasty she was but I was too wrapped up in other things to notice. I thought she was the one for me, but I don't think I'll ever get anyone, anyways.."

I could sense the hurt in his voice, but a look in his eyes was also enough to be able to tell he was in pain from Liz's actions.

"Everyone has their own person, that's what I think is a part of love..even if it isn't visible now, I'm sure you'll find someone. Afterall, you're very kind." I say.
He looks up and smiles.

"Heh, thank you, Elizabeth. Just curious, but, have you ever dated anyone, or do you currently? And if you do have any ex's...did they hurt you like Liz hurt me?"

I could tell this isn't something he opens up about often, but I'm glad that my words may be helping him.
I found myself opening up to him too.

"Despite being the third princess, I was picked on for my appearance and lousy personality, I've never really dated anyone before..."
I wish I could find my someone, but would it ever happen?

"Impossible..you're literally everything a guy could want. What jackass would make fun of you?"

I stayed silent, but smiled, and maybe even blushed, remembering what he said.
That's when we reached class. We were a few minutes late, but that was okay for me! I'm glad I could talk to someone about my past and insecurities.

~Meliodas's POV~

I'm late, but that's the least of my concerns. Just hope Elizabeth doesn't mind. Speaking of Elizabeth, that conversation I had with her beforehand, it seems like I can easily open up to her, without any second thoughts. Besides, her advice is my preference.

But who in the world could even think about saying anything negative about her? She's so..beautiful. Besides, her personality touches me..it means a lot. Her kindness, everything.
Although I only just met her an hour or two ago, I could already tell I'd get along well with her.

I realise our teacher, Mr Baraton, is ill, so Ms Sammy had to take over...dang it, that pissed me off.

"Give me your excuse for being late.." she says, with a lazy sigh.
"Showing Elizabeth around the school." I say. She looks shocked that I would ever do anything like that, and she can't find anything to tell me off for, so she gives up on me, and allocates me my seat.

All I hear is a "Hmm, I'll sit you next to Liz." to Elizabeth, and that got me worried.
Ban shoots me a look, I sit next to him, but I'm worried too much about her to even talk to Ban.

"Captain, you seem stressed, everything okay?"

"If she even lays a hand on her I'll-" that's when I got interrupted.

"Is there a problem?" Ms Sammy shoots me a look.

"No-" Ban starts to say, but I wasn't having this.

"You know damn well what you're doing. Give me detention, anything, even abuse me for weeks on end, but never even attempt to hurt the people I care about.."

"Meliodas, you keep up with this attitude, and I'll have to assign you detention."

I give up, knowing it isn't gonna get anywhere.

I then listen in on Liz and Elizabeth's conversation, and boy, was I about to go demon mode...
