~Miki's POV~

Monday morning, I stood in front of my full-length mirror and looked at my new school uniform. I wasn't sure how I felt about the transfer. It wasn't like I'd made any friends at my other school but I was worried about going to a school that was for heroes. As I tried to decide how I felt about the change, I smoothed out my dark teal skirt and felt a little self-conscious, it was shorter than the skirt for my other school had been, it fell to mid-thigh. It had a long sleeve button up white shirt, a thick red tie and a light grey jacket with dark teal accents. Not liking that so much of my legs were revealed I found some thigh high stockings in the same grey color as the jacket. I couldn't decide what to do with my hair and settled on leaving it down and added a red ribbon to separate my bangs.

Nervously I shuffled my feet, hesitant to leave my room. The first day of school was always nerve-wracking. I stepped out of my room to find Shota trying to fix the white scarf he usually wore. Hizashi appeared to haphazardly tossed it on him rather than layering it how Shota normally did. I moved to help him and managed to muster up a shy smile in greeting as I unraveled his scarf.

"Thanks." He sounded more tired than usual and I assumed he must have tried to get Hizashi to fix it several times before one of them gave up.

I smiled as I layered it how he usually wore it before realizing how close I was standing to him. My heart skipped a beat and I took a hurried step back once I'd finished my task. He looked like he was about to say something but his words fell away as Hizashi exited his bedroom. He wasn't wearing his usual punk rock hero attire, instead he had dark pants and a white t-shirt that had aggressive green font on the front. It immediately caused eyestrain. I squinted as I tried to see what it said.

Proud Big Brother of Miki-chan.

All the color drained from my face. What was he doing?!

"Miki-chan! You look so cute!" He squealed and ran to hug me.

I sidestepped him and fixed him with a scowl as I crossed my arms in front of my chest. He lost his balance and face planted on the floor at Shota's feet. 'Miki-chan's body guard' was written across the back of the shirt. I tapped my foot trying to express my discontent.

Shota shook his head and stepped over Hizashi's fallen form. "Come on, Miki, leave the idiot there."

I scrambled after him.

"Miki-chan!" Hizashi sniffled dramatically as I trailed after Shota.

For a second it looked like Shota had forgotten he was injured as he walked into the kitchen as if he were going to prepare breakfast before looking down at his broken arms. Trying to be helpful I picked up the coffee pot and threw him a curious look. There was a smile in his tired eyes, he nodded his approval.

"Please."

I smiled and prepared the coffee as Shota reluctantly retreated to the dining table but paused once he reached it and realized he didn't have a hand to pull the chair out with. I dropped what I was doing and ran to pull out a chair for him. There was a brief glimmer of frustration revealed in his eyes.

"Thanks." His voice sounded a little funny, he didn't like being taken care of. I could tell he was getting frustrated that he was unable to do anything for himself. I wanted to offer him some kind of encouragement but was at a loss.

I didn't like seeing Shota upset. I retreated to the kitchen to finish making coffee. Shota normally cooked something for breakfast. Over the weekend I'd tried walking through several recipes in my head trying to visualize myself cooking in hopes I'd be able to use the stove without issue. I still felt nervous as I looked at the stovetop.
