"yugyeom, i don't want to go to the skatepark," jinyoung says, trying to pull his arm out of yugyeom's grasp.

"i want you to meet my boyfriend, hyung," the boy whines, a bit pout on his face that always makes jinyoung give in to whatever he wants.

so jinyoung goes to the skatepark with his best friend because yugyeom and his boyfriend have been dating for two months and jinyoung hasn't met him yet so it's finally time.

yugyeom runs into the gates of the skatepark when he sees who jinyoung can only guess is his boyfriend.

"beomie!" yugyeom shouts when he all but jumps into the shorter man's arms. the man is shorter but just barely and he is broader than yugyeom, "this is my best friend."

jaebeom says hi but one arm is around yugyeom's waist and the other hand is holding a skateboard so he can't shake jinyoung's hand.

"hey, yug," another guy says when he has a foot on the ground next to them instead of skating around. he ruffles yugyeom's hair before finally glancing at jinyoung with interest.

"mark! this is my best friend jinyoung!" yugyeom tells him proudly, not noticing the way mark looked jinyoung up and down and the way jinyoung tenses a bit because mark is hot and jinyoung knows he doesn't look his best.

"cute glasses," mark says, bringing a hand up and moving a strand of jinyoung's hair, "you guys going somewhere?"

"we're getting food, wanna go?" jaebeom asks his best friend, his hand around yugyeom's waist playing with the bottom on yugyeom's shirt and occasionally rubbing the skin just above the waist band of his pants.

mark agrees and they head out. jinyoung is glad to see that jaebeom is very sweet to yugyeom despite his somewhat harsh look in style and general demeanor.

jinyoung and mark walk behind the couple so that jaebeom can pretend that he isn't calling yugyeom all sorts of cute pet names quietly, even though they all know it.

"you're yug's best friend?" mark asks jinyoung, moving his skateboard to his other hand so it isn't between him and jinyoung.

"yes. i've known him for years." jinyoung doesn't know how to feel about mark. he seems like trouble and jinyoung doesn't like trouble. he wants to be the teacher's pet that he already is, and not deal with someone like mark, whom jinyoung can only assume isn't even in college.

yugyeom is in front of them, giggling because jaebeom is tickling him. jinyoung is paying more attention to yugyeom, just to make sure that he's being treated well by his "new" boyfriend.

when they get to the restaurant, yugyeom is too distracted by his boyfriend to care about jinyoung and mark. so mark and jinyoung actually get to know each other, even if jinyoung doesn't really want to get to know him because he still doesn't know how to feel about him.

"tell me three things about you," mark requests, leaning against his hand to keep him up.

"my name is jinyoung park, i'm in college for early childhood education, and i was born in south korea but moved here when i was young," jinyoung tells him. he doesn't necessarily like mentioning that he's from korea as he barely remembers it but it is where he's from.

"what do you want to do after college?"

"i want to be a preschool teacher. what do you do?"

"i'm a mechanic," mark says, able to realize how ironic it is when he's a car mechanic but prefers to skateboard, "i took classes while i was in high school so i could start working right after i graduated."

mark and jinyoung are still talking and getting to know each other when yugyeom and jaebeom tell them that they're going to leave.

jinyoung's face when he realizes that he hasn't even eaten his food because he's been talking to mark.
