genderbent fem jinyoung = jinjoo, male jaebeom

jaebeom isn't good at relationships. not because he's a bad person or anything, he's just not what people expect when they see him.

he's intimidating to look at. broad shoulders, sharp features, a few piercings, and his wardrobe doesn't make him seem like the kindest person.

he's tried dating apps, but when girls meet him and realize he's no one where close to acting how he looks, they don't want anything to do with him. he's timid, shy, and isn't very outspoken in most situations. he's confident, but the moment he's talking to someone in person, they realize he's not who they thought he was.

so he's deleted the apps and is just letting things happen on their own. he isn't going out of his way to find a relationship but he's still open to one. he knows he should be working on his music anyway so a girlfriend isn't necessarily his top priority.

but he can't help who catches his eye.

he sees her at a coffee shop while he's trying to get some emails written for work. while waiting for some replies, he takes the time to look around the fairly empty coffee shop and that's when he sees her.

she's beautiful. long black hair that she has pushed behind her ears, plump lips that are just slightly in a pout as she looks out the window, and she's sitting in the sun, making her look absolutely ethereal without even trying.

jaebeom doesn't realize how long he's been staring until he sees the girl now smiling at the door and waving at a man who has walked into the coffee shop. she stands, revealing that he's much taller than her but that doesn't seem to stop her from pinching his cheeks and making him very obviously blush.

"noona, stop it," the boy whines, which is when jaebeom looks back at his laptop and sees he's already gotten a few replies from his first few emails.

jaebeom sighs in relief when his best friend finally arrives. he isn't late, jaebeom was actually just super early in an attempt to get some work done before letting himself chill out for the rest of the day.

"beom," mark calls as he gets closer, "i'm going to order and i'll come sit."

jaebeom nods even though mark is no longer looking at him and goes to take a drink of his own drink. it's not even coffee, it's a strawberry drink that's the closest thing to strawberry milk they have.

mark doesn't take long to sit down across from jaebeom, smiling at his best friend as it's been quite a while since they've gotten the opportunity to hang out as mark's boyfriend has just moved into mark's apartment and they've been busy being the most domestic couple jaebeom has ever seen.

"how's bambam?"

"he's great, doing really good in school i'm super proud of him," mark gushes about his boyfriend, "how about you? how have you been?"

jaebeom shrugs, "my life has been very uneventful lately."

mark is about to say something but is distracted by a shout from behind him. jaebeom switches his gaze to the table of the girl and guy from before, where now, the boy is trying to grab a phone from the girl.

"oh, that's bambam's best friend," mark notices, chuckling at the coincidence of seeing his boyfriend's best friend.

mark gets up after a few minutes of talking with jaebeom and goes over to the table, talking to the pair, pointing over to jaebeom who is attempting to not look incredibly awkward but just accidentally makes himself seem kinda scary.

mark starts walking back to the table, telling jaebeom that the two are going to join them. jaebeom isn't great at meeting new people so he can only hope to make a good impression and not completely embarrass himself in front of a pretty girl.
