John 6:35 Jesus says, "I am the bread of life: he that comes to me shall never hunger; and he that believes on me shall never thirst."

I have heard preachers say we are created with a God shaped hole in our hearts. Until we receive Jesus as our personal Lord  and Savior, we are always seeking. And this leads me to my sister, Melinda.

She was almost emotionally destroyed when our parents divorced. She was 10 and the divorce was final on her birthday! When she reached 14 or so, she was on the hunt! Boyfriends, one night stands. She tried drugs, she ran away from home several times. Very demanding of her freedom and self will. At the age of 17, she gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. During her pregnancy, she had gave up all of her wild ways to ensure a healthy baby. But she couldn't keep her. She allowed a family member to adopt the baby. And went back into her wild ways. This time around, she attempted suicide several times. God always made a way for us to find her just in time!

My sister was trying to fill a void. She was a happy- go - lucky sort of person on the outside. Always wanted to make people happy. But on the inside, she was empty.

We got her to going to church and she finally gave her heart to the Lord. At one point, she turned her back on God. She couldn't understand why our daddy had to die instead of being healed and back to normal.

She got a toothache so severe that, again, she thought of suicide. Mom got a hold of a family member that was a dentist. He met them at the office at midnight, during an outbreak of storms and heavy rain. During the procedure, he witnessed to her and pulled her tooth without her even knowing it was out! Mom told her how the Lord had worked thru all that and my sister repented of her sins!

She went on to be listed in my book as one of the greatest faith holders i ever met! My sister.
