I see you,

Every night on your roof,

A hand you use,

For the telescope,

And in another,

An old journal you dote,

In the day I see your bloody knuckles,

Your pretty face adorned with freckles,

I've watched you fight in the streets,

Watched you read romance in the library,

Not your black clothes,

Or the frown you wore,

I'm curious to read your journal,

I know it will tell me more,

About you,

This I knew,

You're someone who's seen hell,

Someone silent but desperate for help,

I notice your backpack bigger and heavy,

When you go home past curfew,

Every night you read a different story,

I, your neighbour, love books too,

Your thoughts are blurry with your eyes hazy,

I hope I can befriend you,

Someday maybe?
