Chapter 12

Zach P.O.V

 

What I heard in the morning scared the shit out of me. I was still sleeping. My arms were wrapped around Lexie. The thing i did not expect was to hear Aiden scream ‘’Why the hell are you in bed with my lil’ sister!’’ As soon as i heard that, I jumped out of bed. Lexie woke up at the same moment as me. ‘’Wow! Chill Aid. Can’t you see we were just sleeping.’’ Lexie said in a tired voice. ‘’Just sleeping?.. JUST sleeping?’’ He asked. He sounded outraged. ‘’Why would you repeat that if you heard it the first time?’’ Lexie asked. I would have laughed at her inappropriate rudeness, if my life wasn’t at stake here. ‘’Why would you be sharing a bed, if you were ‘just sleeping’’ He mocked the last part in what i assume was supposed to be Lexies voice. She kept quiet. Why was she quiet. He was going to kill me and she kept quiet? Is she ashamed or something? ‘’Lexie felt down yesterday.’’ I explained. Aiden got a disgusted expression on his face. ‘’So she needed you to feel up again?’’ He asked. ‘’No, No.. she just needed some comfort. I told her about.. you know, those guys. She was angry, They had targeted one of her brothers.’’ As soon as I said that, He got a guilty expression on his face. I didn’t say it to make him feel bad. I only told the truth. She was mad about them targeting Aiden in the first place. ‘’So there’s nothing.. going on..y’know.. between you two.’’ Aiden asked in an embarrassed voice. I wish there was. At least something little. Neither of us answered so Aiden thought it was our way of saying yes. That there was something going on. ‘’So there is!’’ He said in an accusing voice. If I hadn’t known better, I would say that he sounded happy. But I know he wouldn’t be.. right?

‘’Nothings going on Aid.’’ Lexie said. ‘’There was just a kiss.’’ She said before sprinting out of the room. ‘’What!’’ He shouted and followed her down. ‘’What kiss. Did you kiss him? Did he kiss you? ‘’ I heard him questioning her while running. I followed them down to the kitchen. They were sitting now. Aiden was smirking and Lexie was to. He was still questioning her. She didn’t seem to give up anytime soon so I ended Aidens misery. ‘’So did you kiss him?’’ He asked, much calmer now. He didn’t look mad, that was the only reason I said what i said next. ‘’No, I kissed her.’’ He looked at me with a grin on his face. He was about to say something when Lexie interrupted him. ‘’No you didn’t! I kissed you.’’ She was blushing a bit. It looked adorable on her. ‘’Sorry to burst your bubble, but i was the one who made the first move.’’ I said walking towards her. She got up from the chair and stood in front of me. ‘’Well.. I kissed you back.’’ She said. Why were we even having this argument. Usually, people argue about the one who didn’t start it. I took a small step towards her. I would like to prove her wrong and kiss her right now. I looked at her lips. They were formed in a smirk, just like mine. She had her arms crossed and was looking at me in a weird way. I liked the way she was looking at me. It made me feel like the only one who had her attention. I put my hand on her hip and pulled myself a bit closer. ‘’Well maybe i-’’ I got interupted. ‘’Okay, you two should probably get away from each other.’’ Aiden said. ‘’Nothing going on huh?’’ He looked at us both in a teasing way. ‘’There isn’t anything going on.’’ Lexie answered. ‘’A kiss doesn’t have to mean anything, it could have meant: I want you-’’ my eyes widened when she said that. ‘’Or it could have meant. we are close enough to kiss or your breath smells good. It could have meant anything.’’ I think that her little speech only made things worse. Aiden looked at me with a ‘do you have something to add’ look. I shook my head and lifted my hands in surrender. ‘’So you ‘’want’’ my sister.’’ Aiden asked in an accusing way. He crossed his arms over his chest. I think he was teasing me but I couldn’t risk anything. ‘’No, No it’s not like that. I don’t want her it was-’’ He laughed while Lexie punched my arm. ‘’Now that’s just mean Zachariah.’’ She yelled.  Aiden started laughing in the background while she walked away. I looked at him pleading to end this conversation. I didn’t want her to be mad at me. ‘’Go fix your Love issues.’’ Aiden teased. ‘’What love?’’ I asked him. He looked at me in a knowing way. ‘’You know you love her. You probably always have.’’ I ignored his statement and ran up to Lexie. She was on the second floor when i caught up to her. ‘’Lexie, I didn't mean it like that.’’ She turned around and glared at me. Is it bad that I kind of like how much this affected her. ‘’Atleast you could have the decency to not laugh in my face.’’ I noticed that I was smiling so I quickly washed the smile away. ‘’No, wait sorry.’’ I gripped her wrist.’’ I didn’t know how I would be able to explain to her that I did want her. I wanted a bigger part of her. Not only her body but her mind and feelings, And most of all… her heart. Yeah i know, cheesy. But it was the truth. I just didn’t want to admit it right now. I know she doesn’t feel the same way. ‘’It’s not that I don’t want you.’’ I resumed my explaining. ‘’It’s just.. It was your brother. I mean if that was Asher and not Aid, I’d be dead right now.’’ It may seem to some people that Aiden is the more serious one who often handles most of their business, which is true, but when it comes to  Lexie. He is the most protective thing on earth. ‘’I don’t care if you want me or not, I know someone who does.’’ She was probably trying to annoy me or something but it didn’t work. Until she said ‘’I’ll go call Chris now.’’ That statement pissed me off and i pulled her towards myself. ‘’No you won’t.’’ I said taking the phone that was in her back pocket. ‘’You are not the boss of me.’’ Her joking mood was on again and I liked it. I put her phone in my back pocket and wrapped both my arms around her, Trapping her in.

I couldn’t hold back anymore, I wanted another kiss. I bent down and kissed her. She kissed me back. The same sparks that I felt yesterday were flowing thru my body. She wrapped her arms around me. Her hand were sliding down my back. She ran her fingers thru my hair with one hand and the other kept sliding down to my ass. Only when it was too late, did I understand what she was after. She pulled away and showed me her cell. Then she ran away laughing her ass of.

 

Aidens P.O.V

I heard him apologize. It was sweet. It’s not so weird that I didn’t get mad. There are a few reasons. One: Zach would never try to ‘’play’’ his best friends’ sister, so I know he is serious. Two: I have always known that he has been in love with her. He just doesn’t know it. He hasn’t felt love before, that’s why. Three: there’s a bigger chance of him getting hurt than her. Speaking of, I need to have a talk with her about braking boys hearts. I know i’m very understanding, I wouldn’t say the same for Asher when he wakes up. If he even has his memory left. I sighed.

Time for work.
