Chapter 13

Aidens P.O.V

When i got back from Finland my boss had heard of what happened after Ashers shift a couple of days ago. He considered shutting the place down because of the incidents that have occurred. I advised him not to since these were the only accidents that had happened. I still don’t know about what he’s planning to do.

I arrived a bit early to my shift so i took my time getting ready. I was changing my shirt when I heard the door open and close. I turned around and met a red faced Rachel. ‘’Who let you in?’’ I asked her. She looked at me first with shock then with sorrow. I noticed how rude I sounded and immediately felt guilty. I was thinking about Asher and how I should have been the one receiving the beating instead of him. I had angered myself up just before she came in. I didn’t mean to make her feel bad. ‘’Josh let me in.’’ She said in a soft voice. She told me about how she had come to the club for a very long time but every time I had been away or just ended my shift. ‘’He’s a great guy.’’ She said. ‘’I babysat his daughter. Last week.’’ She said in a small excited voice. Again I didn’t mean to sound so rude but the only response she got from me was ‘’Okay.’’ The sorrow on her face increased. I was feeling pretty emotionless these past couple of days, because  I haven't had time to express them. Even though i was happy this morning for Zach. As soon as they left me alone, I realised that I didn’t feel good.

‘’Bad day huh?’’ She asked. ‘’Days’’ I corrected her. ‘’Come here my child and spill your worries.’’ She tried to joke. It would have been funny if I was in only a teeny tiny bit of better mood. She sat down on the bench that was sat there and patted her knees. As if i would sit in her lap. I would crush her. I sat down next to her. She sighed and wrapped her hands around my neck and pulled my head down on her lap. ‘’I don’t know you very well. But I do know that you’re not a meany.’’ She started. ‘’Something must have happened.’’ And right there, I started sobbing. I know, It wasn’t manly of me to cry while a girl comforted me. But I really needed someone to listen. And to understand. ‘’It’s okay, Everything will be okay… I hope.’’ She tried comforting me. After about five minutes I started talking. I told her of when I got the phone call and what happened to Asher. When i was done, I felt relieved. She hadn’t said anything. She only played with my hair and kind of massaged my head. When I looked at her, she was staring at the opposite wall. Tears were running down her cheeks but she looked emotionless. I wiped her tears away but she was still staring. ‘’It.. it was… That’s why you were mad. You didn’t have a bad day. You just didn’t want to see me. Not that I blame you. I wouldn’t want to meet me either.’’ Oh no! She thinks I didn’t want to meet her. ‘’What! no that’s not true.’’ I said standing up and in front of her. ‘’Yes it is! You know it.’’ ‘’ Would I have poured my heart out to you if I didn’t want to see you again?’’ I raised my voice a little. ‘’Why would you? I would hate the person that did something like this to me!’’ She was yelling. ‘’I don’t hate you!’’ I yelled back. ‘’Don’t you dare look me in the eye and lie!’’ She screamed. She was about to get out when i grabbed her wrist. ‘’It was just a misunderstanding. I don’t hate you.’’ There is no reason i would. ‘’It’s my fault. You said it yourself. They were after you because YOU saved ME.’’ If you just ignored the screams, like your girlfriend told you to, then Asher would be fine.’’ She was crying. ‘’Like hell i would! How would you have felt. Look me in the eye and tell me what would you have done if I wasn’t there. If that man raped you?’’ She gasped. As if not expecting me to see thru her. ‘’I recognize your type Rachel. You Only care for others. You don’t care how you would feel, as long as everyone around you is feeling okay. You would rather be miserable than cause someone pain. Now look me in the eye and tell me! What would you have done?’’ She looked at me, stunned. The tears were flowing down her cheeks. I had met this girl once and only spent a couple of hours with her, but it already felt  as if i knew her. ‘’I… I would...’’ She took a breath and closed her eyes. ‘’I would have killed myself!’’ I almost expected that. I didn’t want to believe it but when I noticed what kind of person she was, I knew that she had an angel by her side, If i wouldn’t have heard her, then she would have been dead right now.

I can’t believe that an amazing person was so close to slip past my attention and disappear from this world without anyone knowing how good of a person she was. She was making her way towards the door. Maybe she thought that I was still mad or something. ‘’I know, It’s a disappointment.’’ She whispered before reaching for the door knob. ‘’Rachel.’’ She looked at me with a sorrowful expression. ‘’Get back here!’’ I ordered while pointing on the floor where she was a few seconds ago. She was making her way towards me way to slow, so i walked the short distance to her and engulfed her in a hug. she let out a breath, as if she had been holding it. ‘’You have to stop being too selfless. I would NEVER have listened to my ex girlfriend.’’ I made sure she knew. We were hugging for a while when Josh came in. He looked stunned. ‘’Oh my! Sorry kids, don’t worry i won’t let anyone else come in here, be safe okay.’’ He said before closing the door. I looked down at Rachel who was red faced again. Oh! I was shirtless, and we were hugging, Oh my! he thought we were.. I burst out laughing and so did Rachel. ‘’He thought.. ahha That we would do something-hahahahah- in his- in his club. Rachel was dying of laughter. I stopped laughing and admired the beautiful girl who was leaning on to me- dying of laughter. I hugged her again and after a while, she stopped laughing and hugged me back. ‘’Can you please be a part of my life?’’ I asked her. It felt like I needed her in my life. She looked up at me with a serious expression. She cupped my face in her hands. ‘’As long as you are safe and not planning on disappearing anytime soon.’’ She made me promise. I looked at her questionably. ‘’What do you mean?’’ I asked for an explanation. She frowned. ‘’They were targeting you.’’ She said and hugged me. She was standing on her toes and i was bent over so she would be able to reach me, so i lifted her up and now she was hanging from my neck. ‘’I don’t want to know how it would feel to lose you.’’ she said. I gripped her legs and wrapped them around my waist so that she wouldn’t need to hang. I didn’t respond though. After a while i guess she was tired of the seriousness because she said ‘’ Wow’’ ‘’what is it’’ I asked her in a calm voice. ‘’I don’t know what’s better. Your Abs, or your back.’’ She confessed. I chuckled once she realized what she said. ‘’I would say both.’’ I answered her. I don’t think she was hearing though. Her eyes were stuck on a certain body part of mine. My stomach. I was smirking at her but she didn’t notice. She started following the pattern of my abs with her finger. I froze. Her touch was sending sparks. Causing shivers to go down my spine. ‘’Maybe I should start working.. Stay in here, I’ll visit you on my break.’’ I told her. When I put on my black t-shirt she started pouting. I chuckled. Who knew my little Rach was a pervert. Wow ‘’My’’? where did that come from?
