"You can come out now" I hear a deep breath from behind me and see Violet sitting up in the back seat. "Remind me why I came?" I fake scowl at her "I knew she'd come alone still I don't want you out of my sight" she smiles at me in the mirror "Why are you doing this for me?" I sigh "I feel like this is my fault. Like I helped do this to you. This is my way of making it up to you" she smiles sadly
"Ethan this isn't your fault Iris is full of hate and-" she cuts off when she sees the look on my face "Oh Ethan I'm sorry" I shake my head "Oh no it's not that I was just thinking about what Iris told me. She said she loves me" Violet takes a deep breath "Do you love-" I cut her off "No Violet I love someone else" she gasps quietly
"Who?" she asks weakly "Even though we've only known you a short amount of time I feel a connection between us. Like we could work and I know we've both been burned in the past by our exes but Violet I think I love you" I see her smiling in the back "You think?" I nod my head "I don't know what love is or how it feels but I think I love you" she smiles wider "Well then I think I love you too" I pull over and let her out to get into the front seat. For the rest of the ride home, we sit silently smiling holding hands.
