Keeper of Dark Light (Sequel to Beacon Of Light)

Chapter Three

Baekhyun snapped out of his dazed state looking around him. He noticed that he was back in his room that he shared with his friends. Baekhyun sat up before going to the door where he could hear his friends. As we walked into the kitchen Lay looked up surprised to see that he was up.

"You're awake. I didn't think you would be up yet". Lay spoke calmly. "I wanted to thanks you guys for saving me. I know I put your lives at risk". Baekhyun said as he looked at his friends. When his eyes landed on Kai's his heart sputtered to a stop. Baekhyun went to open his mouth, but then closed it. "Kai, I want to apologize for hurting you. In no means did I mean to harm you. The Red Force was controlling me. I tried fighting against them, but they always win". Baekhyun apologized stepping closer.

Kai could feel his heart racing remembering everything that happened. His breathing became labored and uneven. "Stop, don't go near me. I'm w-warning you". Kai warned his tone shaky. Baekhyun stopped feeling his heart ache at the words. His best friend for years is terrified of him. Hurt flashed in Baekhyun's eyes as he seen the fear in Kai's. Baekhyun nodded his head trying to hide his hurt.

Suddenly a barstool could be heard being scraped across the floor breaking the silence. Baekhyun looked up seeing that Kai was no longer there. "I'm sorry Kai. I truly am the monster". Baekhyun whispered to himself. "I'll go check on Kai. Be right back". Suho said standing up from his seat. As Suho left he patted Baekhyun on the shoulder. "It's good to have you back". He whispered before heading out the front door.

Kai looked down at the scar that Baekhyun left behind his heart still racing. Everything that happened still flashed in his mind. He didn't know if he could be around his friend without triggering a panic attack. Kai closed his eyes trying to calm himself down. He no longer wanted to have panic attacks.

Kai jumped when he suddenly felt a pair of hands on his shoulder. He looked to only see that it was their leader Suho. "Sorry I didn't mean to startle you. I was just checking to see how you were". Suho said as he sat down beside Kai. Kai sighed looking out past the meadow. "To be honest seeing Baekhyun for the first time after what happened. . . I fear to be around him. I'm afraid he's gonna hurt me all over again rather he's my friend or not". Kai spoke quietly afraid to hurt his other friend.

Suho put a comforting arm around him. "I don't think Baekhyun intended to hurt you. Like he said he was being controlled. We all know Baekhyun is the sweetest guy on our planet. But you do what you need to do to heal from all this. Take your time I'm sure he'll understand".

Both Suho and Kai look behind them when a sound came from behind them. They stood up looking all around them. "You think it's an animal?" Kai whispered. Suho tried concentrating on the sound but didn't hear anything. "It could be. Let's get to the house just in case. You're still not strong enough yet". Suho said as they headed to the house.

As soon as they started walking again the sound got closer. A buzzing sound could be heard an all too familiar sound. "Run!" Suho yelled as he grabbed Kai's wrist. Kai followed Suho stumbling here and there. The buzzing sound got louder. Kai turned around to see a blue glowing light pointed at him. He was staring at the barrel of a gun. But it wasn't just any kind of gun. It was a gun designed by the Red Force.

"Suho look out!" Kai yelled shoving Suho harder as the gun went off.

Everyone from the house heard the gunshots instantly running where they heard the noise. They followed the commotion as they seen someone lying on the ground. All their hearts stopped.
