Keeper of Dark Light (Sequel to Beacon Of Light)

Chapter Nine

Suho woke up confused waking up in an unknown room. Outside he could hear a commotion outside his window. "Where am I?" He asked rubbing his head groggily. Suho sat up standing up trying to get outside. The house was smaller than what he had been used to noticing it was plain. He looked up surprised to see Baekhyun striding angrily towards him mumbling under his breath.

He looked at Baekhyun as he slammed the door shut confused. "What's with him?" Suho said as he walked to where the others were outside talking.

"We'll just keep a close eye on Baek until we know he won't try anything. Knowing him he'll try something behind our backs". Chanyeol spoke as Suho walked closer. "What's going on? How come Baekhyun was upset?" Suho asked as he looked at his friends.

"Baekhyun had a breakthrough on his power  and blacked out. His power is stronger than he is and if he keeps using it can be harmful to him. And we told him to keep his power on the down low so that we don't get caught. As I told him that he flipped out saying he won't stop using his power" Chanyeol spoke as he rubbed his neck.

"Let him cool off for a bit and we'll see how he handles things. Like you said it can be doing more harm than good if he uses his power. I'll do some research to see if there is some kind of cure for his new power". Suho spoke as he had been thinking of this for a while.

While Baekhyun sat in his room he could feel the burning sensation getting stronger almost like his arm was on fire. He hissed under his breath rubbing at his arm. "Why won't this go away? It hurts so bad". Baekhyun whispered as he looked at his arm the tattoo the same as it has been.

Baekhyun looked at the door as Chen came in. "Hey, D.O made some dinner if you're hungry". Chen said as he sat down next to Baekhyun. Baekhyun shook his head. "I'm not hungry. You go ahead and eat". Baekhyun said as he looked out the night sky. He could hear Chen sigh beside him ignoring the awkward silence. "Look, Baek, I know you're hiding something. It's written all over your face that you're in pain. What's going on?"

Baekhyun closed his eyes subconsciously rubbing his arm. "It's nothing Chen. I'm fine". Baekhyun stated weakly. Chen knew Baekhyun better than that. "You're not fine Baekhyun. You're literally in pain right now weakening yourself. I'm worried because you're my friend". Chen went to grab Baekhyun's arm but Baekhyun stopped him as he sensed his plan. Chen winced as Baekhyun squeezed tighter. "I said I'm fine. Just mind your own business". Baekhyun snapped. Chen tried freeing his wrist, but Baekhyun was stronger. "Baekhyun y-you're hurting me. Please let go". Chen said as he tried breaking free.

Chen could see that Baekhyun was no longer himself as he stared him in the eyes. There was something in his eyes that he knew Baekhyun wasn't there. It was no longer Baekhyun in front of him. It was the monster that controlled him. Chen looked at Baekhyun frightened as a black orb formed in his right palm. "Baekhyun you don't have do this. I'm your best friend for years. If you hurt me, you'll regret it. Just calm down and listen to me". Chen spoke calmly as he tried convincing Baekhyun to lose the orb.

The black orb got bigger as Chen feared for his safety. "Baek, please don't make me hurt you". Chen whispered his voice shaky. "You won't hurt me because you can't. You're afraid to". Baekhyun said as the orb got bigger and brighter making Chen squint.

"Baek, you're stronger than they are remember? You got to be in control of your mind not them. Listen to your own voice. Not what they want you to be. Don't make me hurt you". Chen said louder trying to get through to Baekhyun.

Baekhyun releases the black orb just as Chen releases a lightning bolt. Both of them went flying backwards as the whole room lit up, causing the room to be in complete darkness.
