Hey ho! Thank you for the support given! While little for others, it's a lot to me! I wrote the first chapter out of boredom (I am not a writer) and did not expect to get more than two reads! 😂 So I appreciate to ones who are reading and hope you all like. I've been MIA because as I said (I am no writer) and with a lot of work I even forgot where I wanted to go with this idea. But overall here's another! Hope you all like!

Carols POV

It can't be undone.

That's what Clint said after Thor tried to convince him they could bring her back.

She sacrificed herself for the stone. That stupid stone. I laugh to myself. Boy has Thanos destroyed us all over again. At least me. This was all his fault. He destroyed us. Destroyed me, without touching a single strand of hair of mine.

What the actual fuck?

All this time, fighting off crime in the universe; being the hero of all planets, of all moons, all stars, heck, even all suns (just to exaggerate a bit). All this time... being someone everyone could rely on, and in the end... I couldn't even be there for them. Not for Fury, Maria, Monica... not for Natasha. Nat.

My eyes close as I let the tears fall. When was the last time I let myself cry? There's been... so much I have been through... and this is the thing that's affecting me the most.

I could see her smile; weak, broken, sometimes forced. But I knew... it was at least genuine whenever I made her smile.

We did not share too many moments. Before I went to patrol space — right after Thor cut off Thanos' head — I stayed for a little while. Something in me didn't want to leave. Even when every little moment with her was becoming special.

My proud self impressed her with stories about missions of the galaxies. The power that lives within me and how I got them. The time I fought dinosaurs. Even the adventures of my human self — I could tell it's what impressed her the most. The fact that... I never gave up until I became the person that I am.

She would be disappointed right now.

I was not only crying. My body had acted on my own, fell on its knees. Trembled as I scraped the grass as I formed fists through the dirt. I was hyperventilating. Carol Danvers felt completely useless and scared. And yes, that was me.

Not only did I failed to save Fury... I failed to save Nat. Why did it hurt so much?

Because I had given her half of my heart before I left, and now that she's gone, the other half has broken.

Worst part is, she didn't even know she had it. I was too much of a coward to tell her. I was in love with her.

How? I ask myself. How was it possible for me to feel that way about someone, by just looking at them for the first time? Without even knowing her. Not knowing her name. Not knowing who she was, if she was the enemy or not.

I remember clearly the moment I stepped in they property, following Fury's signal. I was furious that I didn't find him, but it all fade away when I looked at her.

A sound broke me from the trance. I looked towards the end of the pretty dock. Hulk had ripped a bench off the floor and threw it away. Not saying a word.

How ridiculous. A guy that had the perfect chance to have a beautiful woman by his side, and he just rejects it. It only enraged me.

Boy, if it were me; I would have never let her go.

Forget that I am powerful. Forget that I have a duty to defend the universe. Screw it all. I'd choose to love and live besides the woman of my dreams.

"She's not coming back." Said the green guy, a solemn look on his face, "We have to make it worth it. We have to."

"We will." Captain America sided him.

They made me sick.

"I won't!" I spoke up, irritably. My body found a strength I had lost to stand up and tall, like I always did, "I refuse to accept she has died!"

Tony Stark looked at me with pity. His arms crossed over his chest, "Carol, I-"

"No!" I interrupted him, "If you want to run along with that, don't count on me. I will do whatever it takes to bring her back."

I turned my back on them and stomped my feet up the small grassy hill that took me to the porch of Tony's home.

"Carol." It was the very own possessor of this home that called out to me, "Listen to me."

I turned to him, abruptly.

He had caught up to me while the others had stayed put.

"I believe there's a way. But we need to work on our snap. I have a bad feeling and I believe that if we take too long, it might be too late again."

"Do what you want Stark. I will bring back Nat myself."

"Hey, I know what you feel." His words froze my entire body. He was smiling now, knowing he was right, "I know because Peps gave me the same looks every time. Specially every bad time. And you saved my life and I owe you big time." He paused, but I said nothing, "I want to do this for you. And obviously I cherish Nat an awful lot. She's part of my family, and now you are too. But..."

"I get it, Tony." My voice quivered.

Tears were threatening to fall again. I was being selfish, I knew. I was thinking about Nat's life over a billion others. Over half of the entire existence. But I can't help it, when she is my complete existence. Sorry in advance, Fury. But I know these kids will bring him and everybody else back.

"Tell me what to do and I will be off." I stated, taking control of my emotions now.

"You're going to have to get yourself a time traveling machine. Go back to Vormir right before Nat falls down the cliff. You know the rest."

"Wouldn't that cause some sort of paradox?" Not that I cared.

"If it does, we'll handle it." He smiled proudly this time.

I did too. Finding a time machine shouldn't be hard, right? I mean, they have one. But they need to use it after the snap. I'd have to wait, but I don't want to wait for all that programming. I'm faster than light, might be even back before their snap.

"Thank you, Tony." I put a hand of his shoulder.

He took that same hand of mine and gave it a squeeze, "Bring her back, we'll bring everybody else back."

I aim for nothing less.
