The sun shone brightly in the cold leaf-bare sky, the howls of wolves and the loud obnoxious barking of the dogs that lived in the nearby twoleg place seemed as quiet as the tiny squeaks of a mouse compared to the yells and screeches that were coming from sunningrocks.
Two clans fought endlessly for the piece of territory, snow fell heavily as different cats seemed to endlessly fight. A black and white she-cat ran towards a fluffy white she-cat, pinning her down without much effort. Neither of them saw the adder coming behind them, “PATCHFUR WATCH OUT!” a black she-cat yelled. Patchfur ran, leaving the white she-cat lying on the ground. “BRIGHTWILLOW!” a gray tom yelled, Brightwillow turned, being a few heartbeats too late, since the adder had bitten her, “CROWCLAW, CROWPELT GO GET HONEYBERRY AND SPOTTEDPAW!” the two black toms nodded and quickly ran off to camp.
Shortly after a golden tabby tom ran over with a mouthful of different herbs, a small, cream cat with white spots ran after him quickly, the two ran over to Brightwillow as she laid on the ground, the fighting had come to a stop a while ago since everyone was watching to make sure no one else got bit.
After the medicine cat and his apprentice had seen Brightwillow they both walked back, head held low. “Larkstar” Honeyberry started, staring up at the tall blue-gray leader, he took a breath and continued “it's too late, we're sorry,” The golden tabby medicine cat said, lowering his head to avoid the dark amber eyes of his leader.
Larkstar sighed and gave another glance to his dying mate, his eyes made their way to the very RiverClan deputy who had pinned Brightwillow down and allowed her to get bitten by the adder.
“You...” He growled, walking closer to the black and white RiverClan she-cat “you caused this” he spoke, each paw step closer to Patchfur making him look angrier and angrier.
“Are you blaming me?” She hissed stepping closer to the ThunderClan leader “why wouldn't I? You pinned her, and she didn't have enough time to get away” he growled stepping closer to her again “it was your stupid mate who didn't see the adder” Patchfur growled once again stepping closer to the leader.
Larkstar pounced on Patchfur, taking her by surprise. She tumbled over onto her back as Larkstar pinned her, his eyes full of rage.
He raised his paw, ready to take the killing blow before Patchfur scratched his belly. Larkstar stumbled back off of her from the sudden pain to his belly.
“Please Larkstar, calm down, that's against the warrior code” the tall blue-gray ThunderClan deputy spoke, attempting to push his friend and leader away from the RiverClan deputy, Larkstar made a quiet remark of protest but it went unheard. A heavy silence filled the air, the tension so thick it could be cut with a knife.
“Go Icetail we're leaving,” Larkstar said turning, Icetail quickly started dismissing warriors and the few apprentices that had also been in the dawn patrol before they had gotten attacked.
Larkstar looked back to the RiverClan deputy, who had turned and started telling warriors to leave he turned back to his own warriors and deputy, who had poor Brightwillow carried on their backs, by now she had passed, without much pain due to the fact that Honeyberry had given her death berries to end her suffering faster. Larkstar growled quietly to himself.
“Patchfur of RiverClan, you and your kin will pay forever for what you have done to me, my kits, and my clan. Your actions will not be forgotten...”
