(Male Byleth x Edelgard) The Forgotten Past..(COMPLETED)

A Teacher's Promise..

-TIME SKIP-

(Edelgard's POV)

I stomped down the hall in frustration, why did that blue haired idiot of a man have to become out new professor?! I mean out of all the people! 

I mean sure he saved my life and whatever..but he just had to automatically become our teacher just like that?! I punched the wall causing the guard next to me to flinch. I walked out into the courtyard to see Petra practising with her sword. She turned my way and smiled, "Hello there Edelgard." She said with a sweet smile.

I waved at her and walked over to her, "Is something the matter, you seem a little down.." I shook my head, "N-no nothing's wrong." I stuttered. Petra looked at me for a second until she continued to train. I said goodbye and walked over to the balcony looking out at the monastery.

Man..how much I loved this place..being here with everyone..it's like a dream come true..but being the next ruler for a kingdom..kinda ruins it a little..

-(Edelgard's Past)-(10 YEARS AGO)-

"Momma do I have to be the next ruler?" 

"Yes..Eldegard you are meant for this, you are the next ruler and I know that you will make everyone in this kingdom happy." 

"Do you really think I can..?"

"Honey, I don't think you can..I know you can."

-(PRESENT)-

I sighed at the memory and began to walk back to the courtyard till something..or someone grabbed me and I felt myself falling backwards off the balcony.

"H-Huh?!" I tried to stand up but I was too late I was about to fall. But then...all of a sudden a hand grabbed me and pulled me back up. I gasped as Byleth looked at me with great worry. "Dear god Edelgard are you alright you almost fell down." I looked down the balcony to see what was the cause of that..but there was nothing there..nothing at all.

I looked back at Byleth and pushed him away from me, "T-thank you..I'll be taking my leave now."and with that I ran.Not even bothering to look back at Byleth..why did I have to be saved by him...again?!

-TIME SKIP-

As school came to an end I couldn't help but feel relieved, I immediately ran back to my room not wanting to meet Byleth's gaze.

Once in my room I sat on my bed and sighed, heh..now I can just rest without anything to worry about...But then Byleth came to mind..His worried expression that cared about me...his eyes filled with determination when he fought against the bandits..his weird captivating smile...

I slapped myself hard across the face. No..I was not going to thank him...I can take perfect care of myself. The all of a sudden someone knocked at my door.

"Come in." I said and immediately wished I hadn't, the person that walked in was no other than...Byleth.

"H-huh?! What are you doing in here?" I asked with fury, but he didn't answer instead he walked over to me and looked me dead in the eye's. "Edelgard..is something wrong?" He asked with a hint of sadness that made me flinch.

"NO! I mean..no nothing's wrong..professor." I turned away not wanting to look at him. He sighed and grabbed my hand, "You know you're not very good at lying." He said with a smirk.

I blushed and yanked my hand out of his grip. "So what do you want?" I asked trying to cool my face down.

He smiled and pushed me against the wall near my bed, he then put his head near the side of my head and his lips were close to my ear. "Edelgard..I'm sorry to say that no matter what you may think of me..I promise that I will protect you with all my might. I don't think losing you would make my life any easier." and with that he smiled at me and left my room.

I just stood there..feeling like a complete idiot..my face felt hot as I slowly fell to my knees feeling nothing but..embarrassed..
