The drive to New York was excruciatingly dragged out. I thought we'd be on the road for the rest of the year, but luckily we halted to a stop and I finally lifted my head. My eyes almost popped out of their sockets at the mesmerizing site out the window. Buildings were towering above me, reaching into the clouds and tickling the sky.
"Welcome to New York, sweetie" dad said, a toothy grin playing on his lips. I squealed in excitement, forgetting about my glum attitude towards the move. Maybe it would not be so bad after all... I was brought out of my train of thoughts when I heard the sound of the car door opening. "Come on Ally, we're here. I just need to go get the keys and we can start moving into the new home." He said, a hint of desperation in his eyes. He was obviously nervous about me liking it or not.

I gasped as we stood in front of an enormous Victorian-styled house with day lilies and lavender shrubs encircling the off-white walls. The intricate design on the scirting was emaculate, artistry glowing from it. We walked through the gate onto the newly-laid stone path, green grass on both sides of it. We reached the big oak doors and as we pushed them open, I was flabbergasted, looking into the house I would call home. I must say, I was not complaining. The sandstone floors were complimented by the leather couch-set situated on top of a Persian carpet. The large spruce dining table and the enormous open-plan kitchen were only a few of the amazing furniture and features this house possessed. Oh how I was going to enjoy living here! I finally tore my eyes away from the interior, I looked at my dad, worried out of his socks. " So... do you... uhm... do you like it. I mean if you don't then I can totally get us a new hou-" My arms were wrapped around his torso before he could finish his sentence. " I love it" I whispered, tears prickling my eyes as we stood there. "If you love it that much, why are you crying" he asked as he cupped my face , analysing it in an attempt of finding the answer himself. "I guess I'm just overwhelmed and tired. Is there maybe a room for me with a bed with my name on it?" I asked as innocently as I could, trying to hide my excitement. If the living area looked like this, what was my room going to look like. "Yes , but you will have to decorate it yourself" he chuckled , noticing my droopy eyes. My heart sank a little as I heard that, but at least I could put my own spin on my bedroom. Well, that's going to keep me busy these first few weeks.

I was up early this morning, and I was already dressed and ready to go, I was just waiting for dad as he ran a bit late - as usual. He eventually appeared out of his room and off we were to my first day at Redwood high. I was wearing a cute red skirt that came to just above my knees with some high boots and a black blazer. It was cute, but not too revealing or extravagant to draw too much attention toward me. We stopped in front of the gates of the school and my heart started racing. Dad must have noticed this as he placed his hand on my shoulder and gave it a reassuring rub. I just gave him a faint smile and nodded in appreciation.
"You'll be fine Al, you've got this" dad said and gave me a grin and sighed hard, then waved me out of the car... rude!
"Okay, I'm going! " I yelled and gave him a murderous look. He replied to this by driving away. So much for sympathy. I stood still for a few seconds, collected myself, and then marched into my new high school, wondering what it would behold...

"Stay out of my sight you fat pig, and stop stuffing your mouth, it's not good for your love handles!" Rage encased me at that moment as I saw a redhead girl screaming down at another girl on the ground. People around them either laughed or stayed quiet, too afraid to speak.
The next thing I knew I was face to face with the bitch, screaming at her. "Who do you think you are, degrading a girl like that?! Stay away from her or I'll take that stick shoved up your ass and beat you with it!" People around us stared at me with frightened faces. Well, so much for not drawing attention. She was probably not used to people talking back to her or challenging her authority because she was dumbstruck at my words. She quickly recovered though, plastering on a sinister smile and just turning around. Strange... Normally girls like her don't back out of a fi-
"NO!" A person in the crowd screamed, but it was too late. Red crushed ice was already sliding down my back and staining my clothes. As I opened my eyes I saw miss popular standing in front of me, holding an empty slushy cup. "Tina, why did you do that!" the girl on the floor questioned. Ugh. Tina, she even sounds like a brat. "That'll teach her to NEVER talk like that to me again," She took a few steps closer to me and, with her index finger, scraped a bit of slushy from my forehead and flicked it away. "Is that clear?" She said to me, inches away from my face.
Oh how I wanted to slap that smirk off her face. But, before I could, I was dragged away and into the bathrooms. I finally got a clear view of who ruined my shot and my harsh facial features softened at the sight. "I'm Sophia by the way, that who you oh-so-elegantly met is my sister, Tina." I couldn't believe my ears, how could your own sister be so rude to you? Before i could ask further, the bathroom door swung open and our heads snapped towards it...
Chapter two... what do you think?
It's twice as long as the previous one but still quite short. In doing so I can upload more frequently.
Alicia has already made an enemy within five minutes of being in that school, and potentially, a friend.
I know the story is a bit boring still, but that's what all books are like, right?
