I was looking inside my closet for the past 20 minutes now, unable to decide what to wear. It was filled to the brim with outfits for every occasion, but somehow I kept finding myself in this predicament. I was about to slam it shut and buy a new outfit, but then I remembered one specific garment, and I started digging for it. With clothes littered on the floor, I finally found it.

A smile appeared on my face as I stared at it. I had forgotten about it long ago and it was sitting there, like a gem under a pile of rock. I slipped into it and it fit perfectly. It was a black a-line dress, but it poofed out more than usual. The skirt was decorated with small red and white flowers and it had straps to hold it up. I paired this with a thin leather belt around my waist and with my peach heels, it looked stunning. A silver necklace with a small white gold heart studded with swarovski crystals hung around my neck, completing the outfit. It was a sweet sixteen gift from my uncle.

I picked up my peach clutch just as the door bell rang and headed downstairs. Dad still hadn't come home, since he was needed on site for a week. He had transferred some money into my bank account to feed my hungry belly. I kind of missed him, and he had only been away for about 4 days. But at least it gave me some freedom to do as I pleased. So, I opened the door and the scent of sunflowers hit my nose. How did he know that it was my favourite? "I saw you had a sunflower key chain on your bag. Figured you liked them." Nick said, as if reading my thoughts.

It was so sweet that he paid so much attention. "Thank you." I said, holding back the urge to hug him. "You look stunning!" He said, raking his eyes up and down my body, and my cheeks heated up because of it. "You don't look too bad yourself." I said. And I wasn't lying. He was wearing a slim fit button up shirt that hugged his built stature, and his pants matched the shading perfectly. He must have thought this outfit through. I invited him inside while I put the flowers in some water.

"Who's this?" Nick asked, holding up a picture of my mom. "That's my mother... she died when I was little." I half-whispered, trying not to think too much about her death. Well, there goes the happy mood... "I'm sorry, I... I didn't know" Nick said, seeming flustered. "No it's fine... But I think we gotta go, my stomach might eat me." I said, lightening my mood and walking towards the street.

My jaw fell to the floor as I saw a Lamborghini parked next to our house. I mean, I knew they were rich, but not this loaded. "Come on, we're going to be late." Nick said, his voice once again full of his typical arrogance. A smirk was plastered on his face, his ego getting a boost from my admiration of his car. And so I hopped into the passenger seat and we sped away.

We came to a stop in front of Stargioli's, and I immediately felt excited and guilty. "No, I can't. This is one of the most expensive restaurants in New York!" I said, failing in trying to hide my excitement. "You don't stop complaining, do you Higgins?" Nick asked as he climbed out of the car and walking around to open my door.

Did he just call me by my surname? Silly boy...

We walked into the restaurant, and it was as if we were transported to a different world. Crystal chandeliers dangled from the ceiling, casting dancing shadows upon the silk drapes. Gold plated cutlery covered the glass tables and there was an orchestra playing in the background. Wow, this was so over the top for a first date, but I guess if you have the money, you do as you please. "Nick, this is amazing!" I said, looking at him with a sheepish grin.

A waiter escorted us to our table and we were given the menus which was just as impressive as the decor. It was painted with gold patterns, outlining the delicious dishes described on the Egyptian paper. This was something that I was going to remember for the rest of my life. "What are you going to order?" Nick asked, not lifting his eyes from the menu. My eyes involuntarily moved to the prices and I almost choked on my water.

"I... uhm.. I think I'll have the Caesar salad." I said, seeing that it was the cheapest thing on the menu with the massive price tag of $130. "Don't tell me you're one of those girls. I thought you were different." He said, rolling his eyes. "No, it's just... well... this place is very expensive..." I said, lowering my gaze. But Nick just let out a throaty laugh and looked at me. "Don't worry about money" he said, waving his wallet in the air, "I got that sorted." I rolled my eyes at his action and looked back to the menu in front of me. "Then I think I'm going to have the salmon tartare  with truffle oil and gold leaf-wrapped asparagus." I said, my mouth watering at the sound of the dish.

The waiter arrived at our table, asking for our orders. "Can we get the salmon tartare for the lady" he said, winking at my while saying so, "and then I'll have the snails with garlic truffle sauce, the fillet steak, the lobster, and the masa toro with caviar. That will be all thank you." He said, handing the waiter our menu. I just stared at him with a shocked expression to which he plainly responded "What, a guys gotta eat, and we can share if you want." This was going to be one fun night...

My mouth watered when the plates of food were placed in front of us. There was barely enough room thanks to Nick. But I wasn't complaining. Everything looked delicious. Before the plates hit the table, Nick's jaw was already moving, and I soon followed. I let out a little moan as the food hit my taste buds, which earned a cheeky laugh from Nick. I glared at him, and we continued clearing the table of food we ordered.

It felt like I was about to burst. The only thing left was the steak, which Nick quickly cleared. "What's for main?" Nick asked. I looked at him with a mixture of shock and horror, wondering where he had the space to put all this food. He saw my expression, and he laughed at me. "I'm kidding! Geeze, I'm not a vacuum." He said, and I sighed in relief.

"This was delicious, thank you." I said, letting out an exhausted sigh. I had a definite food baby, but it was worth it. We went back home shortly after and soon we were back at the gate in front of my house. "This was a great night. Thank you." Nick said, inching closer to me with every passing  second. My heart rate picked up because of it and I managed to mumble out a "thank you" myself. He slowly leaned forward, his eyes flicking to my lips. I licked mine and leaned back a bit. I dodged his kiss just in time, and defeat washed over his face. "Sorry, I'm not that type of girl..." I said, feeling bad for some reason. "No... uhm, it's fine, I should have known better. Of course your not like every girl... you're different." He said, a faint smile appearing on his lips, but even that could not hide his sadness. He winked at me, then walked back to his house and disappeared. And so I went back inside, jumped in the shower and got ready for bed. I didn't have any homework so I climbed under my comforter and succumbed to sleep. Tomorrow was another day, what would happen next??

Chapter 7: it was kinda fun writing this, not worrying about too much drama happening, but who knows what will happen next?
