kihyun smiled in relief as he looked down at the sleeping maknae. he was glad he could finally get more rest. after he dried changkyun's skin as much as he could with the dry side of the towel, he took it, put it on the nightstand to his left and pecked the younger's forehead once again. and then he just sat there, watching changkyun sleep peacefully until he eventually closed his eyes as well and fell asleep before even noticing himself.
it was around 10 pm when the other members came back. jooheon, who got the extra keys for changkyun's room from their manager, entered the room with hyunwoo waiting for him outside the door. he slowly opened the door and after realizing that the two of them were asleep on the bed next to him, he carefully put down the bag of food they bought for the both of them on the table. and after inspecting their maknae, he turned off the light on the nightstand. he wasn't sweating anymore, but his cheeks were still red. his face got back some of the color. kihyun too, looked quite exhausted, so the rapper was very to see that they could sleep now and catch up on rest. the one other thing he noticed was that kihyun's hand was holding changkyun's. finally. he knew that it was time. to that, he just smiled leaving the room, causing hyunwoo to proudly smile back at him after realizing what jooheon was trying to show him through gestures. like that they left and carefully closed the door again, making sure to not wake any of them up. however, a while later changkyun woke up himself due to some strange feeling in his chest. he opened his eyes and immediately noticed what the situation was. he had difficulties while breathing. at this moment, he had no idea what caused it, but he was sure that he needed fresh air. so he carefully got up, not really paying attention to kihyun at the time. all he was careful about, was to not wake the older up since he already was overly worried and exhausted because of it. changkyun didn't want to burden him even more than that. he only put on his shoes, not bothering to wear a jacket and then simply took the keys of his room and headed to the elevator, exiting the hotel after arriving on the first floor. he walked outside, welcoming the fresh but cool breeze. he managed to calm down his breathing but something still didn't feel right. not knowing what else to do though, the maknae just stood there, his eyes closed and focused on whatever was going on inside his head.

"kyun?" he heard someone call behind him. a familiar voice, but not kihyun. he turned around just to see jooheon standing there.

"hyung? what are you doing here? how did you- wait, what time is it?"

"it's 2:41 am"

"wha- why are you still awake?" changkyun asked, confused and surprised at the same time.

"i was just about to go to sleep actually. i was watching a movie and then heard your door open and close. i just knew it must've been you and i need to take care of you. that's why i'm here now to check on you. what's wrong? why are you going outside that late?"

"oh- i was just, um.. i just wanted to get some fresh air. i woke up and- yeah." changkyun didn't want to tell jooheon about the problem he actually had. it wasn't necessary to worry them any more.

"kyunnie tell me the truth, okay? are you sure?"

"yes. i am. don't worry, hyung."

"alright. but come back in now, yeah? it's cold and you're only wearing a shirt and sweatpants. that's bad for your cold. like- the worst even and we both know that kihyun would be scolding the shit out of you if he found out about that." jooheon said, his eyes never losing focus on the younger.

"that's why we won't tell him, right?" changkyun quickly interrupted him, chuckling. then he returned to the lobby of the hotel again, leaving jooheon behind, laughing.
