Of course Annabeth won the race but that's only because i let her win, yea that's right I tripped over a twig on purpose.Most of the guys from camp were all huddled in one place. That could only mean one thing the Aphrodite cabin was coming.This time there were more guys though.Annabeth and I went down there to go see what was going on.
My jaw dropped her hair was up to her shoulders now,she wasn't layered with clothes either.She was smiling.She stood a little taller.This was not the pure innocent girl who offered me cookies. Most of the guys were drooling over her like dogs and she was a steak.She spotted me,then looked away."Who is that girl"Annabeth asked.
I took and deep breath and said "my sister".Chiron told everyone took take their seats.I felt bad for Nicole, all the other seats were taken up except for the Poseidon seats.I signaled her to come and reluctantly she actually sat down. "Hey about that me trying to kill you thing-"
"Its fine , No hard feelings"she said.That gave me a bit of relief.She was staring at the fire.
"So, a new look?" I said.
"Yea, the Aphrodite kids recommended it, so um your a son of Poseidon right? do you have any powers or thoughts that ever come into your mind?" she asked.
"well sometimes my feelings generate with water if Im mad at someone I can send a spiraling blast of water at them,that usually wears me and sometime Poseidon gives me advice through my thoughts why do you ask?"I said.
"Its just that when mom and I were running from this Stygalian bird, I got so mad that I caused a tidal wave and scared it away" she said.
Chiron was giving out a pep talk for tomorrows capture the flag he ended the pep talk with the usual may the best team win.He looked in our direction, he stared at Nicole, everyone else jaw dropped, "another child of the big three" he said under his breath.
I didnt know why I hadnt realized it sooner.Above Nicoles head was a blue glowing trident.Drew came up to her and showed Nicole her reflection using a tiny mirror. Nicole touched it and it vanished.People gasped, everyone knew one thing,Luke was after her.
"Calm Down Everyone!" Chiron said.Nicole sat there paralyzed, as if she hadnt already gotten so much attention.I felt bad for her, but at that moment I had no words."We will continue on our regular schedule, a half blood being claimed is just an ordinary thing , let us now go sit around the camp fire." Chiron said.
Nicole got up and walked as stiff as a statue.I tapped her on the shoulder "you okay?" I asked.
"Yea, I think Im just gonna skip out on the whole roasting marsh-mellows thing" she said and hung her head low.
"Well, want to see your cabin? its pretty cool"he said.
"I have nothing better to do" she said as she kicked a pebble.
"Lets go then" I said trying bring her spirits up.Ive never been a big brother before, and for now I though I was doing pretty good.
We walked to the front of the Cabin."Welcome to Cabin Three, built by Poseidon himself"I said. Her eyes lit up.
"This is that place in my dreams, your that kid in the picture"she said.
"Excuse me?" I said.
"When I met Sally there was a locked room that was reserved for me there were pictures of me as a baby and this 3 year old next to me, That was you, your my brother!" she hugged me with tears flowing out of her eyes.
"yea. I am" I said and hugged her back.
