It was unfair how people treated Nicole.After all, I was the one who captured the flag, Isn't that the pint of the game or is it run,trip over a skeleton,almost drown the guy who made you trip over a skeleton and steal the spotlight from your brother.I didn't even get a good job,but I did get a "Man,your sisters hot can I get her number".That was from Travis Stoll, I sliced his poker cards in half with Riptide.Everyone was now following her,asking for her autograph,etc.Even Annabeth followed her.The only person left besides me was Nico.You'd expect him is have a frown, I mean the dude lost after all,but no he had a wide grin as he was sitting on a rock, looking up at the sky.
" Hey Nico,watcha smiling about?"
" Her."
"Her who?"
" Nicole, her eyes aren't too far apart or too close,their just right,like her,and the color of her eyes, and the redness of her lips, and her pointed nose, and how she blushes" he said but I cut him off.This was getting really weird and a part of my stomach started churning.
I didnt want to say anything that would ruin his happiness so I just said " What about her?"
" Well, I asked her out on a date and she said yes." he said happily
" You cant date my sister! shes my sister and I forbid you from even making eye- contact with her!" I yelled.I hadn't even realized what I said until I said it.My shoulders were tense and my arms felt tight, I guess it was big brother instinct.
"Oh really? Watch me."he said as he ran into the forest.This wasn't going to happen, I was going to stop this date,even if it was the last thing I did.I looked everywhere for Nicole, but she was pretty good a hide-and go seek, what if Nico had already told her, she would hate me.Then I saw her, standing in the middle of a bridge, looking at the open seas, I knew I had to be careful or she would just leave.
I walked up to her, she had the same light in her eyes as my dad does every time he sees my mom." Hey," I said.
"Oh, whats up?" she said, she didn't sound angry and wasn't running away so I figured Nico hadn't mentioned me.
" Nothing really, so I heard your going on a date with Nico" I said trying to sound normal.
"News, really moves fast around here, and well yea I am isn't it wonderful?" she said.
" Well you cant.". Her expression immediately changed.
" Your kidding right?" she said.
"No, I forbid you from seeing him, as your big brother" I said.
"first of all, you re just some dude I met you yesterday, and if I cant see Nico, then you cant.. cant see Annabeth!" she said as she was about to storm off, but I caught her by the shoulder in time.
" I'm not seeing Annabeth! who told you that." I said as my voice rose.
" A little birdy, and guess what? I am gonna see Nico, and not just because I want to, but cause I really wanna piss you off!" she said. My face was getting as red as hers, we were both reaching our breaking point against love, and the two tidal waves crashed against each other, both Nicole and I stayed dry, but everything around us was soaking wet, including Chiron who stood in the middle of us, trying to break the fight.
" Big House. Now." he said as he spit out about a gallon of water.We walked over to the Big House, with a fair distance from each other.We got looks from soaked campers.I guess people don't like water as much as I do."This is exactly the reason your parents had to have you to separated, now I have to punish both of you, so tomorrow you guys are scheduled for cleaning out the Pegasus stable".
"What about tonight? tonights good!" I said knowig that it would sabotage her date plans.
" No! tomorrow is fine" she said trying to calm herself.
"Both of you stop, tomorrow is the date AND I'm adding both of you to mend the Hades garden, It hasn't been watered in months," he said.
" Okay! thank you, well I have to run off, now I have a date to prepare for!" Nicole said as she skipped happily to Poseidon's Cabin.That meant she would see Nico more now!, Chiron gave me a stern look which made me feel guilty, I had just soaked most of the camp but I still had the drive to go after her.
" So Big brother instinct?" he said.
" You bet."
