Core's POV
I started to notice the rift growing between Teep and Rythian. The two had been mega tight before the school dance but now... It was the same with Zoey. The mute boy was ending up as the outsider. Zoey's friends had noticed that she was acting different, I'd noticed a difference in Rythian. The two of them were growing coser together and further away from everyone else.
I didn't plan to nuke the science lab at lunch, it just sort of happened. Me and Duncan were attempting to finish of some science projects when I accidently forgot to cool the internal circuitry of my device. The casing was heated well past the safe levels and had ignited the volatile chemicals contained within. A huge mushroom cloud filled the lad, barbecuing whatever Duncan was making and throwing me threw the wall. I crashed into a set of lockers, my hair smoking and my jacket on fire. I quickly cast an ice spell to put the flames out. Framed in the hole that I'd made in the wall was Duncan. He was mad as hell and he wasn't going to take any more. He'd been working on that project for months and now it was ruined, a smoking mess beyond repair. Duncan walked over to me and lifted me up. He swung a punch into my gut. I coughed and he dropped me. He slammed his fist against my face, spraying blood everywhere. He continued to punch me, well after I was down. His hand was probably hurting from hitting me so many times.
"Stop" I heard someone shout, my head was spinning from being hit. "Duncan" I was aware of people wrestiling Duncan off of me. Zoey and Lewis. He shrugged them off and came for me. I managed to roll out of the way and his fist slammed against the floor. He ignored the pain and kept coming. I finnaly managed to stand up, my glasses broken, my dignity gone. I ducked Duncan's punch and shoved him against the wall. He unfortunatly crashed into Sjin who swung for him. The two of them fought, slamming into lockers and people. Lewis had explained that the two had been rivals for years. They had managed to stay as friendly rivals most of the time but the last time they fought Rythian had got hurt. He'd got in the way and ended up severly injured.
Duncan suddenly remembered that he wanted to hurt me. He punched towards my head. I ducked under the blow and his fist crashed against a locker. I heard the crack of bone, before he kicked me in the stomach. I crashed backwards, my head slamming against the floor. I was knocked out almost instantly...
