Farther in the forest, the Hobbits and Strider rest beneath a gathering of huge stone trolls.

"Look, Mister Frodo! It's Mister Bilbo's trolls!" Sam said half cheerfully.

Frodo tried to answer his friend but the sounds that came out of his mouth were high pitched gasps. Sam feels Frodo's forehead.

"Mister Frodo?" Sam says almost to himself before yelling to Strider, "He's going cold!"

"Is he going to die?" Y/n asked still in tears. Frodo's hand was tightly clasped in hers.

"He's passing into the shadow world. He will soon become a wraith like them." Strider says from his scouting position keeping an eye and ear out for the Nazgûl.

Frodo gasps loudly again and the Nazgûl cry is heard from a distance. Frodo cries out again as if in answer to them.

"They're close." Merry said in fear.

"Sam, do you know Athelas plant?" Strider asked walking over to him.

"Athelas?" Sam questioned.

"Kingsfoil?" Strider said wracking his head for the hobbit term for the plant.

"Kingsfoil — aye, it's a weed." Sam replied.

"It may help to slow the poison. Hurry!" Strider urged Sam.

They search for the plant in the nearby undergrowth. Sam branches off from Strider with another lite torch doing his best to find the plant that can help Frodo. Eventually Strider finds a small patch of the Kingsfoil and proceeds to collect it. Quietly and suddenly a sword appears at Strider's throat.

"What's this? A ranger caught off his guard?" An elf maidens voice spoke behind him.

Strider slowly turns to look at the elf behind him. It was Arwen, Lord Elrond's daughter of Rivendell.  Frodo, lying on the ground, turns to see a white light. A beautiful Elf-lady approaching on a white horse appears from the light. She dismounts and rushes towards him.

"Frodo.... Im Arwen. Telin le thaed" Arwen spoke to him.
(Translation: I am Arwen. I have come to help you.)

"Lasto beth nîn. Tolo dan na ngalad" Arwen continued.
(Translation: Hear my voice. Come back to the light.)

"Who is she?" Merry asked.

"Frodo!" Arwen exclaims as she kneels down next to him.

"She's an Elf." Sam spoke up.

Y/n knew better but still felt a pang of jealousy as she watched Arwen fret over Frodo. Strider chews a portion of the Athelas plant and applies it to Frodo's wound. Frodo gasps in pain as Strider applies the herb.

"He's fading!" Arwen exclaimed, "He's not going to last. We must get him to my father. I've been looking for you for two days." She continued as Strider lifts Frodo up in his arms.

"Where are you taking him?" Merry asked again concerned for his friend.

"There are five wraiths behind you. Where the other four are, I do not know." Arwen states as Strider mounts Frodo onto Arwen's horse.

"Dartho guin perian. Rych le ad tolthathon." Strider said to Arwen.
(Translation: Stay with the Hobbits. I will send horses back for you.)

"Hon mabathon. Rochon ellint im." Arwen argued back.
(Translation: I'm the faster rider. I'll take him.)

"Andelu i ven." Strider pushed.
(Translation: The road is too dangerous.)

"What are they saying?" Pippin asked curiously.
