"Donghyuck?"
Hearing his name being called, Donghyuck turned around. He was a little annoyed. It was now the end of the day and he got to go home, but someone just had to stop him.
Donghyuck turned around, a slightly annoyed expression plastered on his face. But soon enough, that expression was replaced by a shocked one. Because boy, oh boy, he was not expecting this one.
He had a confused smile as he finally spoke up. "Hey, Mark."
Mark cleared his throat, "you left your textbook in the classroom."
Donghyuck took the textbook from Mark, "thank you."
"It's no problem. See you later?"
"Um, yeah."
Proud of himself for not stuttering, Donghyuck took a deep breath and clenched onto the book.

Donghyuck flung his backpack on the ground and threw the textbook onto the table before throwing himself on his bed. He rolled over to the end of his bed and unzipped his backpack, taking his phone out.
"Donghyuck, sweetie!"
Donghyuck heard his mother from downstairs.
"What?"
"Come down here for a second, we need to talk!"
Sitting up, Donghyuck tossed his phone onto his pillow. He made it down the stairs and saw his parents sitting on the couch. This was one of his worst fears. Donghyuck was sure he did something even though he knows he did nothing.
"Come," his mother pointed to a chair across from her and her husband.
Donghyuck sat down and looked at his parents. He could tell they looked stressed. He noticed that these past couple of weeks they've looked stressed. His father has a frown on his face and he's looking down. His mother is sitting up straight. She looks like she's about to cry any minute.
"What's wrong?" Donghyuck asked.
"Sweetie, we both love you to the moon and back. You know that right?" His mother slightly smiled. It was a sad smile.
"And you know we'll both always love you no matter what."
Donghyuck nodded.
"And no matter what happens to us, we're still a family, okay?"
Donghyuck nodded for a second time and once again, asked his parents, "what's wrong?"
His father finally spoke up. "Son, your mother and I talked. We've come to realize that we have our differences and lately it's been getting in the way of things. So, please don't freak out. And I know you're going to be upset, it's understandable. But, your mother and I are getting a divorce."
Divorce?
Tears welled up in Donghyuck's eyes and he nodded while sniffing, "I understand."
Donghyuck put his head down in his hands, resting his elbows on his legs. His mother reached out and gently placed her hand on his shoulder, rubbing it. "We love you so, so much, Hyuck."
