| Going out |

---

"Donghyuck, I'm moving out in about a week."

The boy froze in his tracks, though he wasn't really moving, actually. But he did catch himself not breathing, which isn't really good.

The house was full of unwanted tension the past couple of days ever since Donghyuck's parents announced their divorce. So Donghyuck knew it was best if either one of them was out of the house, as harsh as it may seem. He felt bad, but a tiny bit of him was thankful that it was his father leaving as he was closer to his mother.

"Where are you going to stay?" Donghyuck was genuinely curious as to where his father would live. It's not like he could buy or rent a house or apartment that quickly. So who would he stay with? "My cousin, for the time being. I'll be looking for a house of my own."

Donghyuck hung his head low, "okay."

His father walked over to him and sat on the edge of his bed. "Hyuck, I'm sorry we couldn't be the perfect family for you. We weren't the best parents, were we?" The man chuckled softly. Donghyuck shook his head and smiled, "no Dad, you were really good parents. Just like you said, you and Mom had your differences. No one is perfect."

Smiling, Donghyuck's father moved over and hugged his son. "You're taking this really well, Donghyuck. I'm proud."

Even though Donghyuck wasn't that close to his father, it made him happy knowing his father was proud of him. He felt like he accomplished something good for once.

When the older man left the boy's room, Donghyuck's smile dropped into a frown. He wanted to talk to someone other than Jeno because he's been annoying Donghyuck lately. Chenle went off to visit his cousin, Renjun in China and was too busy posting pictures on Instagram with this new friend he met that was on vacation. Jisung, he thinks his name is.

So that left Jaemin. Which is perfectly fine with Donghyuck. Lately, he and Jaemin have been growing a closer friendship.

He searched for Jaemin's contact and called him, hoping for a response.

After a couple of rings, Jaemin finally picked up the phone.

"What do you want, Donghyuck?"

"Woah, what's up with you? That was aggressive."

"Sorry, it's just that Jeno has been pissing me off lately. So, why did you call me?"

Donghyuck sighed into the phone and played with the hem of his shirt. "I need to talk to someone. I need human interaction. I'm stuffed in my room with no one to talk to and my family is kind of broken apart now."

"Woah woah woah, hold on there. What do you mean by 'kind of broken apart now'?"

"I didn't tell anyone this, but my parents are getting a divorce. Surprise."

There was a moment of silence on the other end of the line until Jaemin spoke up again. "You're parents are getting a divorce?! Surprise? What do you mean 'surprise'," Jaemin said in a mocking tone, "and you never told us?! Why did you never tell us? I can't believe thi--" He then cut himself off, "you didn't tell us?!"
