"Is everyone clear on what you are allowed and not allowed to do?" Jerry asked over the train's speaker system.
"Could you run by the last two parts again? I was kinda frozen from the head down," asked Ender, who was violently shivering.
"Well maybe if you chill out with those icy puns, I wouldn't have to, Ender!" Stella shouted.
"Not even an exception for me? I really don't need the -" Ender started.
"Guys! We were called here for a meeting and heard what we needed to, except your brother. Maybe if he wasn't flirting with his girlfriend he would've -" Arthur began, rudely cutting him off.
"We're not dating!" Ender and Stella screamed together, the latter of whom began blushing furiously.
Sadie shushed them. "Look, I know we're all anxious to go out in public for the first time in months, but we do need to go over what we can do. Ender and Johann, no overdrive form. I can't carry toxic arrows. Stella, watch where you practice your magic, especially in the rain. Arthur, keep your blade hidden unless it's life threatening. Milo, no midnight or sunrise form."
"But those two were my favorite! Well, at least I have the midnight dream and stardust ones." Milo sat down at a nearby table, and Sadie followed.
"Milo, just tell me if you need to use them whenever we hunt, okay? I promise I won't tell them when we come back in a few years," she whispered before reaching for his hand.
Milo squeezed her hand, blushing. "Uh, yeah. When can we tell the rest of them?" he stammered.
"Later," Sadie coldly told him. She clearly wasn't in the mood to talk about telling anyone else about their relationship. Ender and Johann were walking around in their cat forms, clinging to walls and occasionally floating around.
"I can hear you guys over there," Ender meowed while slowly floating towards Stella. "You might wanna scoot before I bump into you," he told her.
"You scoot, Enzy!" Stella quickly shouted. Whoops! Shouldn't have said that out loud. She knew he'd heard her and was prepared for the worst.
"Enzy, huh? Kinda thought you'd make a name that had nothing to do with Enzefer," Ender commented. "Don't forget I know your dragon name. Save it, I won't say it in front of the couple hiding at the table or anyone else here," he announced, getting louder when pointing out the not-so-well-hidden secret.
"How'd you even find out? You make a lot of noise going into your cat form, so I would pick that up anywhere at base." Milo's confusion was both audible and visible.
"I have my sources," came Ender's smart reply.
"Guys! Come on and quit the arguing!" Luna shouted over the noise. "I get it, a secret's been let out. Whatever! Take some food before I change my mind!" After hearing the intensity of her voice, they all agreed as they sat down.
"Thanks for the meal, Luna! It's really good." Arthur also wanted to ask what she used, but remembering a previous experience with that same question, he dropped it. "So after we get to Michigan, there's some family I have to meet further up north. They said I can bring two friends along if I wanted to. Ender, Stella, you up for that?"
Stella instantly said "Yes" while Ender answered with "Sure, why not?" after a minute of thinking.
"Alright, once we're there, we'll go by flight. I can only carry one of you on my back, and I'll have to fly lower than usual to keep you alive. Stella, you can fly for long periods, right?"
"If it's not too hot, which it shouldn't be in December, especially in Michigan," came her reply.
"Good, because you might need to carry Ender in his cat form after a while."
