"This pie is really good, Luna? How'd you manage to bake it without anyone noticing?" Arthur asked. Others were wondering the same, but Stella guessed it was due to her magic being more potent than she had originally anticipated.
"It's a secret," Luna answered in a tone that clearly meant drop the subject.
"Okay, just asking." Arthur had never been so intimidated by her in his life, considering that he wouldn't even be able to run away if she decided to send minions after him.
"Why the hostility, Luna?" Stella asked. Her white flame began flickering a bit, showing her fear.
"It's nothing," Luna answered. Her flame split in two, one half bouncing up and down and the other sliding side to side, revealing her annoyance and embarrassment. Taylor was the only one able to catch it.
"What's wrong, Luna?" Taylor sensed that she wouldn't want to talk about it. As expected, "it's nothing important" was the response. "If it wasn't important, I wouldn't be able to see it in the fire!" she yelled, which echoed off the walls, making her seem louder than she truly was.
See it in the flames? Luna asked herself. She looked down to see what she meant, but only saw the two smaller flames in her hand. Wait a second, didn't she only give everyone one flame? While she thought this, Taylor had ran up to her side.
"Do you want to tell me now or later? Got a feeling it involves one of my brothers," she whispered to Luna, clearly hinting at Johann when she said it. Stella and Arthur heard her and tried not to look too interested in hearing Luna's answer, but Taylor immediately caught them. "Go up there with those three. Seriously, learn to respect privacy!" she scolded. They left without hearing any more than they already had.
"Why do you think it involves Johann?" Luna asked quietly after Taylor let her know they were out of hearing range.
"Hmm, I don't know, maybe because you two kissed right in front of me!" Taylor whispered back in mock surprise. The flame she was holding was splitting in the middle and re-forming every two seconds, confirming that she was indeed irritated.
"That was three or four days ago, Taylor! And if that was the case, I would've said something back at the hotel!" Luna sharply replied. After hearing herself from the echoes, she looked down at the ground. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have been so rude. It's just stress, that's all."
Now's probably not the best time to pry anymore, Taylor thought as she watched the sliding flame grow larger and almost entirely consume the bouncing flame in Luna's hand. "Hey, just summon something for light. Don't want the others to question your fire, right?" Fortunately, Luna knew how to extinguish a white fire and made a purple glowing hairball appear on the ground, which after about two minutes, turned into the same kitsune she summoned by the train station.
She honestly looks cooler with the glow, Luna thought. "Shall we go on, now?" she asked in her full voice.
