Sadie, Luna, and Milo were walking around some stores in a strip mall, mostly looking for a necklace that Milo would agree to wear. After some time, they found a place with one of a decent price just before Milo would've walked back towards the train station and waited for them to finish.
"Hey, Milo, look over here! We found one! Do you want it?" Sadie asked, dangling it in front of him. His eyes and face gave her the implication of yes, so she bought it. "I knew you'd like it! You could've said something the last time we were in Finland, there were prettier ones there."
After putting it on, Milo said, "It fits perfectly. Thank you, Sadie! Now, what else are we getting?" He was intrigued by their fascination of seeing Ender and Stella becoming a couple. He wasn't as sure as they were about it, no matter how many clues there were.
"Well, we need some food. Luna, you'll be fine if Milo's with you while getting it, right?" Sadie replied, hinting at the fact that they would be splitting up to find different things. Luna nodded in response. Milo, however, looked at her like it was a terrible idea. "While you guys are doing that, I'm gonna see if I can find any enchanting stones for later," she continued. "Meet up by the fountain, alright?" After agreeing, they split up.
The two stayed silent nearly the entire time they walked. Luna broke the silence between them by asking, "So how do you feel knowing that Taylor almost told your most well-kept secret to the others?"
This almost made Milo stop where he stood. "I don't remember telling you about it, Luna. Besides, how would you know?" In response, she summoned a kitsune, a snow leopard kit, and an electric dragon egg.
"There are some things I'm not ready to talk about directly just yet, so here's a few hints." Before Milo could ask about any of them, they vanished. "Now wolf-boy, tell me what Sadie normally gets. I'm not in the mood to cook anything right now," she told him, tone returning to her normal self. Milo shakily answered with the few nearby popular restaurants, so they decided to go into one and get their food.
On the way back to the fountain, Milo asked, "So you've never fully transformed, or even partially?" Luna ignored him and walked faster towards Sadie, who had just arrived and hadn't noticed them.
"Oh, there you are! I found some of the stones I was looking for, so we can go back to the station and wait for them," she told them excitedly, showing the multicolored stones off as she spoke.
"Well that was fun and all but I'd rather not do all that again. What's the ETA on when they'll be back?" Milo asked a few minutes after they started walking.
"Around fifteen minutes if Ender hasn't gone overdrive yet," Luna answered. "Speaking of whom, you should probably bring our conversation to him when he gets back, Milo," she said aloud.
Sadie was surprised. "Wait, hold on, you two actually had a conversation? What was it about, spirits or something?" Milo tapped her shoulder with his tail and Luna summoned a small kitsune to hold. "That's a new one. I didn't know you could summon kitsune too, Luna." Before she could respond, Sadie noticed that the others were almost at the station. "Oh hey, there they are!"
