The majority of the group were waiting on Ender and Milo, who were talking about what may lie ahead.
"So what should I expect in that forest? Any tough fights? Pits? Invisible traps?" Ender asked, his rings glowing again.
It had been three years since the last time Milo stepped foot in the woods. "I'll go over the important things. There's Kura, the king of the forest, but I'm not sure if he's still ruling. The other wolves are there, but I told you that already. Oh, and, um, there's something else I need to tell you but I can't remember what it is."
"I feel like I've met Kura before," Ender told him, trying hard to remember what he looked like. "He had a scar over his left eye and on his cheek, right?" he asked after about a minute or two.
"He only had one scar on his eye," Milo answered. "I don't know how you mixed up his black hair with a scar on his cheek, but stuff like that happens to memories after a while," he added.
At least I tried to remember him. That's somebody else we know, Ender thought to himself. "Oh. Well, we should go. They're getting kinda impatient waiting on us," he told Milo, who was also sensing the same thing.
"I'll grab the door for you," Milo told him after rolling up the makeshift map and stuffing it in his back pocket. "Wait, do I need to? Can't you walk through walls?" Ender put his paw through the door. "Looks like you can," Milo confirmed. "How can you tell if you can or not, though?" he asked.
"If the thing I'm trying to walk through looks a little wavy when I'm right in front of it, I can go through," Ender answered. "Johann can do the same thing, but he can go through any wall whenever he - fricking jeez, Johann! Warning next time would be nice!" He said this with more surprise than anything.
"Well I'm sorry, but Stella sent me to get you," Johann told the two with an obvious tone of annoyance. "We're ready to go, Milo, and you've got the map. I'm sure you can figure out that problem." And with that, he went back through the wall next to Ender and continued to go back down a few flights of stairs.
"You don't wanna upset Stella, Ender, especially since you two are probably dating now," Milo smugly told him, smirking the entire time.
"You worry about Sadie, I worry about Stella," Ender hissed before fully going through the door. Milo, very surprised, followed him.
"Sorry, Ender, didn't mean to make you mad," Milo said apologetically as he was walking down the stairs. "Your rings are audible and they're orange. That's not normal, is it?" he asked after hearing them for about fifteen seconds. Ender continued to ignore him as he kept trying to ask him questions about the way they sounded, metallic, and why they even made a noise in the first place.
"They're like that for your protection, especially now," Ender finally answered when they got to the door between them and the others. "If you can hear it or see them in a different color, you shouldn't stay around me for too long. I'm nearing my limit in this form, so I need you and the others to go somewhere safe. I'm not sure if Enzefer is asleep or not, but we shouldn't take any chances of that." By this point, he was already halfway through a wall that leads to the main lobby, near where everyone else was. Knowing this, he turned around and told him, "Make sure you keep them busy for the hour" before continuing to go through the wall. Milo opened the door only to see Stella and Johann shocked at what they just heard. Taylor, Luna, Arthur, and Sadie were near the exit, which put them out of earshot.
"Is he doing this in the main lobby?" Stella asked. She looked worried about what Enzefer might do to Caroa and Sylvia, as they hadn't had the misfortune of meeting him. "Did he forget that -"?
"Stella, we need to go," Johann cut her off. "I'm sorry, but my brother will have to find his way to us after the hour's up. It's almost three o'clock now, so we need to go towards the forest. Milo, you know the way."
