Dear,

Tommy Williams

Caroline woke up today. I came to the hospital today and she smiled when she saw me. I was in complete shock and happiness. A feeling mix of both. I ran to her and hugged her carefully trying to not cause her any pain. I stood up and held her weaken hand. She held on.

"Sky," Caroline said. I couldn't help but to smile, my eyes got teary but I managed to not let any of those tears escape from the lake I am drowning in.

"Caroline." I then again hugged her making sure she's alive. She stroked my hair like mom used to do when I was afraid of going to sleep and she would leave me like she threatened Dad a long time ago.

"Babe, I won't leave you." Mom said. I clutched her red dress with my small hands. Afraid she'll go.

"Promise?" I asked. I looked at her beautiful brown eyes, liquid eyeliner made her eyes bolder. Her red lips contoured her angular face. Her wavy strawberry hair fell to her shoulders and her straighten bangs covered the horrible scar she wanted to hide.

She took my hands with hers. She gave me a smile I am forgetting. With that she left my hand empty without hers and she undid her white pearls necklace. And she gave it to me. I held a pearl. White and shinny, delicate like my mother was.

"Sky, my beautiful sky," Mother began. Through the darkness, I stared at her. The only light was coming through the open door. "Keep this as a reminder from me. That I love you Babe." She said before leaving. Her heels thumped as she walked. The last time I ever saw her.

I held the tiny beads with my hand as Caroline hugged me. She finally let go. She smiled. Caroline was one of those persons who had an incredible smile even though her teeth aren't perfectly, but they are straight.

"And who's that?" She asked pointing at Richard. He had both hands in his pockets. His white v-sweater fitted is broad shoulders and muscular body. I gave him a small gesture welcoming to come closer and so he did.

"Long time no see," Richard said. My hoped for Caroline dropped as she forgot Richard. I'm not entirely sure why or how Richard knows my sister. But one thing for sure is that Caroline doesn't remember him.

"Richard." He said in a eerie voice I was unknown of. Shivers electrified through my body.

I watched Caroline ponder but had no luck remembering him.

"Sorry but I don't remember any Richard's. Well nice to meet you." She said.  "What grade are you in?" She asked. Oh-no I thought.

"11th like your in." Richard said bitterly.

Caroline whispered an oh.

"Hey, what's wrong with you today?" I asked him. He just shakes his head.

"Sky, one day you will understand. But I'll leave you two alone. Okay?" He waits for my answer.

"Okay, just can you pick me up in like 30 minutes?" I ask him as he walks to the door. He nods before leaving. I turn to Caroline who only seems more confused about what just happened. She's not the only one.

"You don't really know him?" I ask as I stare at the wooden door.

"Sky, tell me why I do remember everything about my past but not him. I don't really know him, Sky." She answers with a yawn. I walk to an empty chair.  " What an interesting fellow" she acknowledges. I nod. "And good looking." She replies. I look at her and nod.

"Where's dad?" I ask.

"Buying books for me."

I can't help and look at the door, my enemy. Because once people go through a door, there's a change they might not be coming back.

Yours truly,

Sky ✉
