For awhile it was confusing. It took both Bulan and I several centuries to fully comprehend and tolerate the oddities and quirks of the human world. Being gods, we matured slower in our physical aspects. Eventhough our intelligence was advanced, adapting to our new surroundings took time. We lived life on a day to day basis while our powers grew.

We had to change our names to blend in. The times demanded we adapt. Hence Bulan is now called Lan and I, Sid.

Even the way we felt for each other has somehow changed as well. The once peaceful and loving relationship we shared started experiencing a few bumps near the turn of each century. There were a lot of temptations for both Bulan and I.

Being the growing youngster, Bulan easily got distracted by music, drugs, parties, and money. I on the other hand became tempted time and again by frail beauty from both male and female genders.

We argued a lot. An entire decade passed when we did not even talk to each other, but always... always... went to bed together and prepared meals for each other.

Through it all we triumphed, and learned one important lesson: that our love was stronger than anything and anyone. It was the one thing we possessed in abundance... a love that would put each other first before ourselves.

I saw him approach the black Aston Martin from the side. His hair wet from the shower he took after his basketball practice. I started the engine as he walked closer. A voluptuous girl walked beside him as he waved at me.

I glanced at the girl, she was a tasty morsel. Innocent, pliant, soft. I turned my gaze back to find Bulan glaring at me, the surroundings immediately darkened, a whirlwind appeared out of nowhere, and lightning crackled.

I smiled, my love could read me like an open book. I tried to give him my cutest pout, the one he called "sad puppy look". It worked... most of the time. The dark clouds disappeared, and the sun came out once more.

"Yvette, this is my uncle Sid." Bulan introduced the girl to me.

"Hello Yvette. Pleasure to meet you." I extended my right hand out the window to shake hers. I felt a tremor go through her body at the slightest contact. She was so in to me.

"Oh wow. Your uncle is an eyecandy. Your bloodline must really be top of the line. You look like gods. Perfect in every way!" Yvette exclaimed.

I chuckled at how clueless she was of the truth, but brushed it away with a wink.

"Yvette's my partner in Bio. I'll need to spend some time with her after class tomorrow. Is that okay... uncle?" Bulan asked, mischief in his tone of voice.

This time it was I who started to get jealous. I pictured Bulan in several compromising positions with the sultry girl, and I was inexplicably angry.

The ground shook ever so lightly, the surroundings turned unbearably cold, and black crows flew above and started attacking people.

Bulan reached over through the open window to pull my left earlobe.

"Ow!" I said. Then he giggled. And the surroundings returned to normal.

"I asked if I could..."

"Yeah, yeah, whatever. School project. Sure. We gotta go, I need to be back in an hour at the company. Lycanthros would crumble to the sea if its sole owner isn't around." I replied, rubbing the sting out of my poor ear.

"Lycanthros? The music company? Oh my gosh, I just love all of the songs you release! Lan, you think it would be too much to ask for an autographed picture of your lead band the Souleaters?" Yvette exclaimed.
