Fortune Academy

The school was probably called fortune Academy because it cost a fortune. At least that's how my parents made it seem. They seemed pretty happy for people who had just spent a fortune on their four kids. Well, three. Blair had apparently been a secret genius and passed the entry test. She knew a lot she just never made it obvious. I had been the opposite. It would practically take me years to notice things. It had been both a blessing and a curse.

I had finally reached the doors that had been held open by two very nice looking staff. Once my eyes fell on the inside of the school I knew exactly just how much a fortune was.

The stairs had been the first thing that my eyes fell upon. The stairs had led to the dorm rooms and I wanted to have that for last. My eyes still focused on the room in front of me.

The stairs had been made of a carpet that looked more expansive than my wardrobe. A large chandelier stood right above me. It had rows of diamonds on it. The diamonds shined as the light reflected from them. My eyes then turned to the nice white walls that had been perfectly painted. On the walls, there were many wonderful paintings.

I began heading down the right hall. I passed a large statue that looked like it could've been from a museum.

I began passing classrooms that looked the most normal. It was just a classroom. Sure the desks and boards had been expensive-looking but they were still just desks. My eyes wandered around hoping I could get a look at any of my classes. Not long after my eyes fell on the small print in the corner that said "left hallway" I sighed as I finally reached the lunchroom.

The room was big just like most lunchrooms. Still, you could just tell by the way it looked that I probably cost more than ten regular lunchroom's combined.

I headed in even though I knew I probably wasn't allowed. Even though getting in trouble on your first day didn't seem very good I still needed to test the school's limits somehow. I needed to know if they were strict or if they let things past. I wasn't a bad kid so I probably didn't need the information but it would be good to have

I touched the soft marble lunch table and wondered..what was the point of having a marble lunch table? Maybe it made eating more satisfying. Maybe it made students calm down more but how much calming did prestigious students need.

My eyes fell on the large windows that lead straight into the garden. The garden had been breathtaking but at that moment I had been more obsessed with the windows. They were just beautiful. The way that they were built. The boarders had been stunning. It had beautiful patterns engraved on it.

Even the windows were expensive. I started to see what Blair meant when she said the expense was unnecessary.

I knew the moment I noticed the windows that my next stop would be the garden. I took off towards the end of the hallway. If there was any place the garden entrance would be it would be there.

It wasn't long before I came across a door that couldn't possibly lead anywhere other than the garden. I quickly pushed it opened and hoped that there wasn't an alarm. That would be a pretty boring way to get in trouble. I was the go big or go home type.

The wind hit me as the door opened. I sighed knowing that there wasn't an alarm. I was happy to say that I had been lucky enough to have a garden for myself. To me, that seemed great. It gave me time to think before I had to actually work and it gave me a beautiful sight. What more could you ask for?

I began roaming around getting good looks at all of the flowers and plants. My eyes fell on large trees, tall sunflowers, and pretty roses. I definitely knew where to come if I ever wanted to be romantic.

Which was very unlikely of course.

Still, I looked at the flowers and imagined all of the things I could do for someone. I was pretty sure I could've been the best boyfriend to exist. It sucked that no one would ever see that.

It wasn't like I never had someone like me. I had been pretty popular among girls growing up. I've just never been really interested and I've come to the conclusion that ignoring it was the best option. My focus was to become rich.

Not by my family. To me, that didn't really count. I wanted to become rich by doing something I loved not by using my parent's money. Too bad I had no passions either. Getting rich is pretty hard when you don't care for anything.

I began to get the odd feeling that something was watching me. I quickly turned to the side to see Blairs eyes locked on me. She had a notebook on her lap as she sat with her legs up on a bench. I should've known she wasn't going to her dorm room.

"Funny seeing you here Ms. moto moto," I said expecting for her to laugh like she always had but she didn't. I figured I would never know why. I guess the joke was old.

I quickly went to sit beside her. I was pretty sure she didn't want my company but I didn't really care. She looked like she wanted to say something but she quickly got lost in her notebook.

"when's summer?" she whispered

I shook my head and laughed she quickly gave me a smile as if she wanted me to forget about the words that just came out of her mouth. "Another ten months," I said jokingly.

The truth was I knew it wasn't a joke. I hadn't been that blind. Sometimes to her summer didn't even happen. Other times it was all she could think about. I never had the guts to ask why.
