Lie To Me

"There's no way in hell I'll ever go into a creepy looking door. I'm not that stupid" I protested as Blair continued to pull me forward. I was surely not going in there no matter how hard she tried to get me in. I didn't have a death wish. Even if I didn't really believe in those kinda things I didn't want to take my chances. I would rather starve than get chased around a large house that I don't even know well by a ghost.

That was not going to happen. I wasn't going to allow that to happen.

"This is like one of our only chances to go in there," Blair said as she tried to convince me. It wasn't working. In fact, I was happy that this was one of our only chances because I never wanted to encounter this again.

This was the reason I just wanted to stay in my room this whole trip. I didn't even want the company anymore. I just wanted to get back into my comfort zone and this was definitely not it. I finally got Blair off of me and began heading back down the hallway I came from. I didn't care about starving anymore.

A loud bang rang out as I walked. My heart jumped along with my body. The sound instantly began to feel familiar. I knew in an old house like this that was definitely a door.

That meant something was coming. Someone was coming.

For some reason, I wanted nothing more than to avoid whoever that was. I knew it wouldn't be good anyway. We were being loud and if it was our parents we were going to get in huge trouble. Especially being near that creepy door. Our parents had loved their privacy. They had even told us to stay out of things we didn't know about yet.

I felt like that had been a warning enough. I turned to Blair who looked completely panicked. I knew she was thinking the same thing as me. We both didn't have much time to make a decision. She looked at me before looking back at the door.

A loud creak was let out as the old wooden door slowly cracked open. I knew by the look on her face she had already made her choice. The girl took off into the forbidden room and the sounds of footprints behind me got louder. I knew it would only be seconds until whoever it was saw me. I needed to move now.

My legs took over as I softly shuffled across the floor as I slid between the crack and into the room. There was no going back now.

My eyes fell on Blair who had been bending down trying to fit into a small hidden place.

"come," she said as watched. I knew if I didn't follow I would get caught.

I followed the girls lead into the small space and kept as quiet as I could possibly be.

The sound of the door opening shook me to the core. I knew it had to be one of my parents.

The sound if something running along with wood only put more fear into my heart. I needed to see who was there. I turned to take a peak as my eyes fell on my mother. She had been running her fingers across the wooden shelves as she looked at the pictures she had on them.

I began to feel like the room wasn't as bad as I predicted. That feeling didn't last long.

I couldn't grasp how the door opened by its self. I knew even if this place looked sweet that didn't mean it was.

My mom slowly picked up a photo and looked at it closely. With that, she walked out.

I knew I wouldn't be leaving this room any time soon. Now I had questions and I was already here to find out the answers. After seeing how sentimental this room had been to my mom I knew it was important. I also knew that it would answer some questions or maybe bring some more to the table. I didn't care which one at this point.

Silence had completely taken over the moment I decided to step out. I wasn't going to get caught after all that I just went through.

I was going to do this quietly and quickly. I was going to uncover something and I was going to get away with it. I had no doubts.

"definitely going through this stuff" Blair whispered as she crawled out from the small space we had just squeezed into.

"Yup," I said as my hand fell on the picture my mom had just been staring out. "you guys must've really loved this place" Blair quickly came up behind me to get a look at the photo.

She didn't say anything but as her hand reached out for the picture I knew something was wrong. I looked at the girls who's hands had been trembling. She looked disgusted as she stared at the picture of the large Pink Hotel.

The place looked like a dream. To my parents, it was a dream. But to Blair, it was nothing close to that. I could tell by the look on her face.

"I'm going to throw up," Blair said as she turned away from the picture.

"what's wrong," I said as I put the picture down the rushed to the girl. The girl pushed past me and began going through the rows and rows of books.

"everything," she said as she pulled out a large book with a bright pink title. The pink hotel. I watched as the girl began going through pages and pages of pictures of what I had known as the pink hotel.

I knew this had to be more than just love. This was literally an obsession.

I turned to another framed picture. It had been our parents and another couple.

Blair quickly put the book back quickly. I could tell she couldn't bear to look anymore.

"that's the owners" She whispered

"w-" my question was cut off by the creaking of a door. I knew there was no getting out of this.
