At the end of the day, Cassidy made her way through the hallways to her locker. Normally she would have just grabbed her bag and left to the bus line or Luke's car, but a certain curly haired boy was leaning against her locker with an easy smile spread across his lips.

"Hi Cassidy," Ashton giggled. Giggled. Cassidy couldn't get over the fact that a grown up looking highschool boy could giggle and get away with it. She thought it was sort of weird, but then again she thought Ashton himself was weird. But weird in a sort of cute way.

"Uh," She swallowed, "Hello, Ashton."

He had changed since lunch; his gray tshirt, black skinny jeans, and black beanie had been replaced to make him the walking picture of school spirit. A blue and white spiral tyedie Gregory High tshirt with the sleeves sloppily cut off, white basketball shorts, and a blue paisly bandanna holding his curls back. You also can't forget the blue facepaint lines across the tops of his cheeks.

Ashton slid out of the way so she could open her locker. She quickly slipped a few books into her bag before refastening her combination lock to the closed door and taking a step back to face Ashton. She managed a weak smile, "Thanks for waiting for me."

"No problem." Ashton grinned. An expression of relization flashed across his face and he dug through his messanger bag for a moment before pulling out a plastic grocery bag. He stuck his arm out to her and after she took it he rubbed the back of his neck kind of awkwardly. "I figured you could use some school spirit so brought you a few things."

Cassidy looked inside the bag, her eyes widening a little at what was inside.

"Calum, Michael, Maxwell, and Luke helped me put it together," Ashton explained as he waited for her to do something.

She first pulled out a bandana matching his own, already tied in a circle shape to fit her head. She pulled it down around her neck then pushed it back up so it was holding her hair back.

Ashton smiled, "Mine."

Next came something she recognized, a heavy pair of knock-off raybands. They were blue as well and Cassidy slid them onto her face with a small smile.

"Luke's." Cassidy and Ashton said together, causing them both to giggle.

Cassidy reached into the bag again, pulling out a pair of fuzzy white leg warmers.

"Legwarmers?" Caissdy chuckled.

Ashton laughed back, "Calum's."

"Legwarmers?" Cassidy repeated, the grin transforming her face. It was getting easy for her to relax around Ashton.

"Just put them on." He dismessed her with the flick of the wrist and a smile.

She sighed as she pulled them on over her black converse, happy with herself for wearing shorts today. Cassidy looked down at her legs and laughed, "I look ridiculous."

"Correction," Ashton shook his head, a few curls spilling onto his forhead and Cassidy had to fight the urge to brush them out of his face. "You look adorable."

Cassidy felt heat rising to her cheeks but she just shook her head and laughed again, nervously. "Next..." her voice trailed off as she held up a jersey. She knew it was the type they wore for away games.

"Maxwell's." Ashton nodded, "But you could easily pull it off for Jackson's. Same last name and all."

Cassidy smiled before pulling it on over the tanktop she was wearing. "You guys really didn't have to do this."

"Didn't want you to feel out of place at the game, soccer fans take the whole "spirit" thing pretty intensely." Ashton grinned, "One more thing in there for you."

The girl froze as she pulled the last article out of the grocery bag, she knew it was a warm up jacket because her brother had the same one with his name on the arm and front. But this one didn't say Hemmings.

"Michael's." Ashton took it from Cassidy's rigid hands and helped her put it on. He even took her hair out from inside the back so it could lay outside of the fabric and against her back.

Cassidy swallowed, forcing another smile. Athlete's girlfriends were supposed to wear their warm up jackets. Cassidy was not Michael's girlfriend. Maybe he hadn't meant it any way like that. Maybe the other boys just asked him for something for her to barrow and that's all he had. Cassidy didn't know.

Ashton put a hand on the small of her back, pushing her gently towards the end of the hall. He spoke gently with a soft smile which helped Cassidy ease back to calmness, "Why don't we get to that game."

Cassidy nodded and let him lead her out of the building and towards the soccer field.

After they found seats on the stands, Ashton turned to her and rose from his spot. "I'm gonna go get us some game-time snacks. Hold my seat?"

"Sure." Cassidy smiled, setting her bag where he had been sitting.

As Ashton walked away, Cassidy's eyes drifted to the team warming up on the field. She spotted her brother strettching by the bench, talking to the coach. Calum and Maxwell were passing a ball back and forth, smiling nonstop. Pregame energy. Jackson was running laps. Cassidy hated running. She wasn't the sporty type of girl. Finally she spotted Michael. He was practicing with the goalie, drilling shots towards the net for the other guy to defend. He looked different out of his band shirts and skinny jeans and in his uniform. He still looked intense; you could see the competitivness in his eyes and he moved with precision. But it was still different, the only thing making him not look like all of his teammates was the black stripe he had dyed in his bleached hair.

Cassidy had gotten lost in her own thoughts and was brought out of them abruptly by Ashton moving her bag.

"Oh, hey." Cassidy smiled as he sat down, taking a few pieces of popcorn from the bag he'd bought.

"Hey." Ashton smiled back, stretching his legs out. "The game should be starting soon."

"Cool." She nodded, eyes moving from Ashton and back to the field.

When the game did start, so did the pep band. Loud, tinny, brass sounds blasted from the far side of the field as players tore up and down the grass. The stands were full of students from both team's schools, the sides trying to constantly be louder than the other.

Loud hurt her ears.

She smiled anyway.

She smiled through the game. Though they had the little conversations Ashton would try to start, they didn't speak much. All the way through the last goal.

Gregory High won, 6-4.

And then it was time for the party.

Sorry for the wait!
The next chapter should be veryyyy fun. All the boys will be together and Cassidy will get to talk to all of them.

Did you guys like this chapter?

I got an idea for a Luke fic called "Conflicting Ambitions". It would be about a singer/songwriter named Marley Hart. It would basically be about how her and Luke are always going in opposite directions. I don't know if that seems interesting though. Plus I have the fairy tale series to if in still.

I love talkin to you guys so comment or message me :)
