Chapter 17: Was The Beach The Best Idea?

My mom made breakfast. Calvin was carrying Luke. We went downstairs.

I asked my mom, "What's for breakfast, mom?"

She said, "Bacon with eggs, your favorite."

Calvin said, "Good morning, Ms. Lockwood."

My mom said, "So those were your shoes and your car. Morning Calvin."

I asked, "You're not mad at him?"

She said, "I see him holding Luke. He looks like a responsible father to me. So, no."

Calvin said, "Thank you, Ms. Lockwood. And i'm sorry."

"Its fine. Let's eat."

We all ate breakfast.

I ask, "So what should we do today?"

Somebody knocked on the door. I went to the door and opened it. It was Katelynn.

She said, "Lets go to the beach! Are you fully recovered?"

I said, "Yeah. The beach? Hm..."

"Come on, Serene! This is L.A. Its hot! Its over 100 degrees!"

Calvin came and said, "Count me in!"

Katelynn said, "Oh, hey Calv!"

I said, "Alright, lets go."

All of us went to the beach, my mom and Luke came along. Calvin and Luke was playing in the water. Katelynn, my mom, and I was relaxing on a towel.

My mom ask me, "Can you trust him?"

I said, "Yeah... I can. But I can't fully. About 95%."

Katelynn said, "Yeah, atleast he's willing to be a responsible father... and boyfriend."

I said, "Oh shut up!" We all laughed.

Katelynn said, "We need boyfriends, Ms. Lockwood."

My mom was looking at a guy.

Katelynn said, "Ms. Lockwood?"

My mom stood up. The guy came towards her.

Katelynn said, "Ouu! You got a guy coming up to you already, Ms. Lockwood!"

I said, "Katelynn!"

She said, "Sorry."

The guy said, "Rebecca?"

My mom said, "Josh?"

I said, "Josh? Mom, you know this guy?"

The guy Josh said, "Mom, huh? You had our daughter and you never told me?"

I was so confused.

My mom said, "You did know! You just... didn't want to be involved and responsible!"

Calvin and Luke came to us.

Calvin asks, "What's going on?"

Josh said to me, "I'm your father."

I was shocked. I said, "Fa...father?"

My mom said, "Don't listen to this guy Serena."

He said, "You named her Serena? I liked Arena better."

My mom said, "Let's go home." She started to tear up.

I said to Calvin, "Lets go, pick up Luke."

Josh said, "Rebecca, I don't remember having another kid with you. Luke?"

I said, "Luke's my son. Let's go now."

He said, "Son? Rebecca, you let our daugher have a kid at a young age?"

My mom yelled, "She's not your daughter! Let's go home."

Josh said to Calvin, "You got my daughter pregnant, didn't you?"

I said, "It has nothing to do with you." We went home. Was the beach the best idea?
