Chapter Two

Hello everyone,

Here is the second chapter; I hope to put more of Seth's life in this one as well so that we can see some of what came out during this time.  I'm going to try to get these chapters out as quick as I can and so will my editor. Chapter Two

Cherokee, NC 1993

            Seth drops the bag of shingles that he was carrying as a sharp pang of sorrow flares throughout his body.   His wolf howls inside of his head and he looks towards the dorms.   The four buildings that house all of the students looked deserted right about now since it is morning where everyone was either in the education building or they were in the trade area.   The shingles he was carrying is for the carpentry department; they forgot a bag of it at the new dorm site behind the older dorms.   He saw Marcus looking at him with a weird look and his eyes widen.

            "Did you feel that?"   He asks the younger man who cocks his eyebrow with confusion heavily on his face.   He shakes his head and walked closer to the man who starts pulling his work gloves off to pull his cell phone out of his pocket.   He dials his mothers' line at the compound and it took two rings for her assistant to pick up the line.   "Mother, is everything all right over there?"

            "Yes, son.   Why do you ask?"   Jean spoke lightly to the oldest of her litter.

            "Well, I just felt like crying all of a sudden and then my wolf howls out in pain.   Nothing happened to anyone in the pack, right?"   He asks with a shaky tone.

            "No, dear.   Your father is over here delegating with the pack in Texas since we are going to hold a meet and mate gala here in a few months.   You know we always do that every six months.   Which brings up something to my attention, you better not try to get out of this one, Seth.   You missed the last few years and you are not going to miss the ones from here on out, got it?"   His mother says sternly.   His eyes narrow with annoyance.

            "Mother, if I haven't found my mate when I hit one hundred then there is a chance that I won't meet her in this lifetime."   He growls out.

            "That's probably where that pang came from, son.   Something bad must have happened to your mate and is damaging her soul deep.   Why don't you just take a break for a month and let Marcus and Dean handle everything while you rest and come to the meet and mate?   I'm just saying for you to relax and enjoy a holiday for a while.   Besides, you know that you will soon be taking over your Alpha duties in the next three years, right?"   She says gently to her son who hangs his head down and groans.   "Don't give me that, Seth Wyatt Wolfe.   I am your mother and I deserve to have at least a vacation at some point in my life.   Granted if a human saw me I won't look out of my thirties but still, I have been around more than double of your life.   I will be taking a cruse with your father and our siblings and we will be gone for more than a year, Goddamn it!!!"   She shouts in the phone and Seth holds his phone away from his ear.

            "Okay, I get it, mother.   You and dad want a vacation away from all of us raggedy wolves who have made you feel like you are older than you really are, right?   Fine, you can have your vacation and I will please you enough to start going to the meet and mate crap.   I still want to know why I feel like someone is hurting though.   There has to be a reason for it."   He growls out into the phone.   Marcus laughs at him.
