Max stared at the note Billy was holding.

"read it aloud!"

Billy looked down at her.

"yeahhhh, no."

"YESSSSS!"

"no."

"whyyyyyyyyy????"

"it's privet stuff Maxine."

"It is Max."

"MAXine."

"Just read it. OUT LOUD."

"no. Means. No."

"fine but at least tell me whats it about after you are done."

"no."

Billy starts to read the note.

"Hey, i know  we got off on the wrong foot, but hey whatever i did i am sorry. Just if you ever need anything  just ask me i am usually at the mall so you can find me there, oh ans welcome back i am glad you survived and happy you are getting better. Have a good day.

Billy turned to a straight face in a shocked in a quick moment.

"what was it?" Max says walking up to Billy then snatches the note.

"MAXINE!" Max starts to read the note.

"awwwww he wants to be friends!"

"so, why would i spend my time on him?"

"because he is a nice guy and just wants to be nice to you."

"yeah, yeah whatever..." Billy rips up the paper and throws it away.

"what the hell Billy!?"
"what?"
"what's you're problem?!"
"everybody."
"WOW!"
"WHAT!?"
"UGH, come on El." Max grabs El and walks upstairs. For some reason Billy feels bad but dosen't regret what he  did.

"AH!"
Steve trips over his own foot into Scoops because he had is eyes closed like an idiot.
"owwwwwwwww...."
Robin starts to laugh.
"you dingus!" Steve starts to lift himself up.
"oh shush..."
"How did you trip? Are you THAT clumsy?"
"WHAT NO! I just have something on my mind..."
"And that is?"
"none of your business..."
"looks like we have sassy Steve The Hair Harrington today."
"It's just that i have a lot of things on my mind."
"like............Biwwy Hargrowve!"
"NOOOO!"
"YESSSSS YOU CAN'T STOP THINKING ABOUT HIM!"
"NOTTTT TRUEEE!!"
"IS SO TRUEEEEE!"
"OKAY OKAY........maybe..."
"sooooo do you, ya know, LIKE him?"
"No, but the way i feel is confusing, it's like i want to be friends with him but also don't want to be knowing how Tommy H ended up."
"So you care about him...?"
"Well yeah i care for him but i also don't want to."
"becase of how Tommy H ended up?"
"Well no but also kinda."
"it's really confusing i haven't even talked to him since that night."
"what night?"
"Well um, he kinda beat my ass..."
"WHAT, well yeah you somehow defeated a Russian but didn't win against Jonathan Byers and Billy Hargrove? At least that's what i heard."
"yes yes, but to be fair Billy used a plate."
"mhm........well still what about Byers?"
"um...........That's well......i could've won but the police broke us up."
Steve went behind the counter when a two customers walked up to the counter to order.
"Nancy? Jonathan?"  Steve says while turning back around.
"Hello, Steve" Jonathan says while approaching the counter. Nancy seems silent.
"Do you guys wanna order?"
"Yeah, we knew this was the best place for ice cream."
"Well we are!" Steve smiles.
"So what would you guys like?"
"Just plain vanilla."
"One vanilla coming up."
Steve pulls out his scooper from his pocket and opens the freezer.
"So do you want anything on it?"
"Nope just vanilla."
"Alright." Steve pulls out a cone and puts it on a stand while he scoops.
"So what have you guys been up to?"
"Well, we are still looking for new jobs."
"I thought you had one already?"
"We did but after Tom died they ran out of businesses."
"Who's Tom?"
"Tom Holloway, Heathers dad."
"Ooooh that girl that was with Billy?"
"Yeah."
"Sounds interesting..."
"Yeah...very..."
Nancy was still silent, though look like she's in deep thought. When Steve was done scooping he took the ice cream out the stand and handed it to Jonathan.
"Thanks!" Jonathan hands him the money.
"Oh no need." Steve smiles.
"It's on the house!" Jonathan smiles back.
"Thanks!" Jonathan walks out, but Nancy doesn't.
"Why?"
Steve turns back around.
"What?"
"Why...?"
"I am confused?"
"Why are you guys being nice to each other?"
"Because he is my friend..?"
"I thought...wrong then..."
"Oh?"
"I thought after the fight you guys loathed each other..."
"That happened a while again that is way behind us. Jonathan is a good guy you are lucky you found someone."
"What do you mean?"
"Finding someone who actually loves you is really hard, and when you do, it really is the best feeling in the world, but some people never get to feel that."
"Oh?"
"Hold onto him."
Nancy smiles softly.
"Yeah..." she leaves. Robin comes out the back.
"Awwww little Stevie still misses Nancy!"
"Not true, I just wanna be her friend again she seems nicer."
"Aw!!"
"What?"
"Wait.....I see what's happening...."
"I am very confused?"
"You are tryna stay single for Billy aren't you?!"
"NO!" Robin has a smirk on her face.
"Yesss!!"
"Noooo!!"
"Yessss!!" They continued the bickering until.
"Guys, shut up already!" Steve turns around
"Dustin!!"
"Hello!"
"What are you doing here?"
"Just wanted to come say hi." Steve goes from behind the counter to the front in a split second so he can say hi to Dustin.
"Hello!"
"Hello, Steve!"
"Where's Erica?"
"She's with Lucas but she's gonna be here in a second."
"Hey losers."
"And there she is."
Erica walks up to Steve and Dustin.
"Hey Erica!"
They all started to hang out and Steve forgot all about what he was feeling in the morning and he felt happy and cared for.

"Jesus he can be so annoying!"
Max was pacing around her room while El sat on her bed.
"Yeah, but at least he's back."
"Well yeah that's amazing, but the first thing he does when he gets back is be a jerk! You know I thought he would have a change of heart but I was wayyy wrong about that!"
"Well all we can do is hope for the best, maybe he's just tired and just needs sleep?"
"Gosh I hope your right or else I am going to be PISSED"
