Nightmares (Akame Ga Kill)

Chapter 5

I rubbed my forehead and groaned in frustation, staring at the dull grey bruise in the reflection on the mulky water. Continously banging my head against a pole was totally not a good idea. I fixed my fringe to cover up my bruise and tried to ignore the sore pain and the throbbing.

Groaning, I layed flat on the grass with my hair sprawled along the ground and squinted at the sight of the sun.

Yesterday was nerve wrecking, Im not gonna lie. I surely thought Tatsumi would fall into the state of death with his lack of skills, but he did not fail to eliminate Ogre and return in one piece.

To say I was glad would be an understatement, I was completely and utterly shocked. Of course I never showed it. I just simply nodded and went to bed where I shared a room with Leone for the time being until I could be trusted to be let go of this damn collar.

I wrapped my fingers around the metal and pulled at it but sighed and let go.

I tried everything to get this off and when I finally did, they replaced it with a shock collar so I couldnt go a certain distance nor attempt to take it off without being tazed to death.

Leone walked up to me and looked over,  pratically shoving her boobs in my space.

"What do you want, big-boobs?" I sighed as I sat up and straightened my back.

"Arent you going to say 'Welcome back, beautiful friend! Im glad you are safe!'?" Leone smirked.

I just scoffed at her and clenched my fists. I was angry at the fact they went on a mission without me and left me here, imprisoned. Seeing specks of blood on Leone's hands and clothes made my teeth gritt harder and adverted my gaze.

I was tired of being the fool of this dictatorship. I want to escape as quickly as possible, but I cannot with these chains nor can I get to the Emperor s palace alone with Esdeath breathing.

"Aww! Dont be so mad, darling! You will get to kill soon!" Leone cooed as she squished my cheeks and made baby noises, mocking me.

I grabbed her hands and twisted them in an abnormal way and lifted my foot and placed on her face and pushed my foot and pulled her arms.

"Dont mock me. I am not someone you want to anger. With or without your imperial arm, you'd be dead facing me." I growled. I released my grip and pushed her away with my foot and stood up. I brushed off the dirt on my legs and rubbed my forehead.

My headache increased by the second. It hurt so badly.

Leone looked at me in shock and amusement 'till her mouth formed into a smirk. "You sure are perfect for us."

"Whatever." I rolled my eyes and placed a hand on the back of my head.  "Any ways, didnt anyone die today during the mission?"

"If you mean all the enemies, yes, we killed them!" Leone smirked. "That was one hell of a relief even if they were easy targets. I feel so energetic!"

I cracked my knukles and stretched out my limbs as she continued to blabber about. I sighed and shook my head. "Alright, thanks for your story tellin' but I need to train, so bye. " I mumbled as I turned to leave.

"Boss said Mine will be your guide for today with Tatsumi. They are going into town and boss said you need to be with Mine."

I halted my feet from walking away any further. I turned my body around and faced her. "Well, I suppose I would like to go for a stroll, but arent you afraid I might run away?" I smirked.  "Or perhaps... maybe.... kill... your friend?"

I walked closer to her and pointed my finger at her. "Or is it that you guys trust me?"

She looked at me seriously and growled, "You are a member of Night Raid now, and that wont change. But as long as you are here, you wont ever be trusted."
