Eldegarde

Prologue

     Magic. Ah, yes. Magic. A power from the depths of one's soul. Channeled to aid them in life. A power that can be of anything. The royal family of the kingdom of Udrolnia was notorious for having powerful magic. But as the centuries passed, the magic in the family began to fade. Many believed that it was the doing of Queen Eleanora Lux Eldrid. It was believed that she cast a spell in the family to prevent any future descendants from inheriting the power, in fear that they may be hunted and sought after for their power. People feared that the royal family's hearts may change for the worst, but centuries have passed since then, and the kingdom still stands strong. Even if the royal family no longer have magic. Or so I thought. I never knew that my family didn't have magic until I showed my sister. She told me to keep it a secret. Curious as to why, I once asked her, and she simply responded with.

     "Because our ancestor Eleanora locked away our magic, in fear that we will be targeted for it."

     But that never meant she didn't help train me, though she herself does not have magic. My name is Eldegarde. Eldegarde Lux Eldrid. I am the second princess of the divine kingdom of Udrolnia, and I have magic. In this world there are majestic creatures that coexists with humans, and though magic exists in this world, it is still quite rare. So me having magic that has been locked away for centuries was quite a shock for my family, but we never told anyone. Not that I would want them to know. I was six at the time I found out I have magic. It's been 10 years since then.
