"Faster! Move with a little more flexibility!"
My teacher shouted across the room as my wooden double-edged blade collided with my sparring partner. Sweat trickled down our faces as we made eye contact. I smirked as I used his force and pushed myself away from him. He lowered his blade and determination flashed through his baby blue eyes as he came charging at me. I side stepped as he pivoted and our swords collided once more, and thus, began the waltz of our blades. When our blades collided and began to push against each other, I quickly tried to think of a way that I can disarm him. I used my blade and started to push his down. I then proceeded to twirl his blade with mine until I suddenly knocked his sword away from his hands and pointed the tip of mine to his throat.
"And Eldegarde wins this round."
The boy walked up to me and shook my hand.
"Not bad," He complimented.
"You weren't so bad yourself, Lord Baratos," I said in return.
"Well, compared to you, it seems like I need to amp up my skills more."
"Then I can only wish you the best of luck. I must leave now. It is almost lunch and I wish to be refreshed before meeting with my sister."
"Very well. Good day, Your Highness."
A small smile graced my face as I turned, set the wooden blade against the rack, and left the room. Once I got to my room, my maid asked if I wanted cold or hot bath. I gave her my answer and then proceeded to take off my armor. When I got to my bathroom, I slowly sank into the tub, the hot water brushed the sweat from my skin. I sat there and faded into my thoughts, letting the comfortable scrubbing of my maid lure me to sleep.
"All done!" She exclaimed as my eyes fluttered open.
I thanked her as I climbed out of the tub and got dressed. Once I was done, my maid asked if I wanted to have my hair done in a certain style. Telling her that I wanted my hair the way it is now, I made my way out of the bathroom, out of the bedroom, and into the hall.
"Lady Eldegarde, Lady Mila will be waiting for you at the east garden balcony," A knight informed me.
"Thank you, Lord knight," I thanked him as I headed to the east garden balcony.
My sister must have heard me, for she turned around to face me upon my arrival. She sent a small gentle smile towards me, and beckoned me to sit next to her. She poured me a cup of warm tea, and I thanked her after. We didn't really need to speak aloud to understand one another. Our gestures were simply enough. Sometimes, spending time with someone in silence is the most comfort one can ask for. Especially in a life where everything has to go in a fast pace with a day full of loud noises. A time of calm, relaxing silence really is a treasure.
