After putting out the fire, I tried to answer all questions thrown at me, and calming people down. People began to surround me while I began to speak.
"The person who broke into the castle and started a fire to the Temple of the Mother will be brought to justice. I promise that I will not rest until this person has been identified, found, and brought to justice."
The crowd around me cheered and shouted with determination as I finished speaking. The guards guided me out from the crowd as the people cleared a path for us to walk out, like the ocean separating before me.
On the journey back to the castle, Baratos started to walk beside me, and we walked in peace. I looked around observing the nature and made mental notes in case we needed it for later.
"You never told me you have magic!" Baratos' excited voice snapped me out of my thoughts.
"I was told to keep it a secret so no one will come after me for my power."
Baratos nodded with understanding. He thought a bit before asking again.
"Then... Doesn't that mean your secret is out now? What will you do now?"
"Well. Yes. The secret is out now, and as for what I'll do now? Hm. I just have to be more aware than usual."
Baratos hummed as we fell back into a comforting silence once more. When we passed through the gate, a sudden thought crossed my head.
"By the way Lord Baratos. Who sent you to fetch me to extinguish the fire?"
"Your mother did. I was kind of skeptical at first, but she told me that you have more than enough tricks up your sleeve. And now I guess those tricks are your magic. Along with your lightning speed mind."
"I see."
As we got closer and closer to the castle, only one thought repeated in my mind over and over again. This fire, though unfortunate, was a chance for me to reveal the fact that I have magic, and that my mother sent Baratos in order for me to reveal the fact that I have magic.
This is not how I imagined I would reveal the fact that I have magic at all.
