Riley
It's been two months. Two months since I've seen or heard from Xavier and Clay. It's been two months since we've been on the run from Dimitri Sokolov and trying to conjure up a plan to shut them down. It's been too long. Two months is too long to not know if I will ever see my big brother ever again. Right now we're on a plane heading to Italy towards Dante's uncle's headquarters. Dante informed the lot of us that we would be much safer with his family and his family's security rather than hopping hotels with Dante's bodyguards.
Travis and Davina caught up with us just a few days after Dimitri took my brother and my friend. I feel like I can't trust anybody. For most of my life, I have only trusted Xavier, and now I don't even know where he is or if he's even alive right now. I don't know if he's hoping we're coming for him or if he's given up all hope. I don't know if he's being tortured or isolated. I don't know if he's breathing or cold and dead, six feet under. I don't know if my brother is okay and that is not okay. Rosie is a mess. Apparently, she and Clay have been in love for a long time, they just now recently acted upon it.
AJ is still in Rodolfo's doctor's care. He's getting better and better, more brain activity is sprouting up as the days go by. He hasn't fully woken up yet, but the doctors say that they are keeping him in a medically induced coma until he regains his brain function. They don't know if he will wake up and they're treating him as if he will. I'm trying not to keep my hopes up too high because my life always seems to spiral down when I do. I just really want Adrian to make it. He deserves to live after everything he has been through in his life.
Dante has been running himself ragged for the past two months. He's constantly getting phone calls and going out of the house with unfamiliar men to have meetings of some sort. He comes back late in the mornings, mostly around three or four in the morning to crawl into his bed. Rosie and I share a room, Davina and Travis share a room, and Dante has his own. Dante and I haven't spoken much since Xavier and Clay were taken. In fact, in the two months that we've all traveled together, Dante and I have spoken a maximum of about ten words. It sucks that he won't talk to me, but I guess it is a two-way street and I have to put in the effort even when he can't.
"We're here." Dante said huskily, getting up to grab his things.
The rest of us followed his lead, also getting up to grab our things and heading off of the plane with him. As soon as we stepped off of the plane we were met with a very shiny and fancy black limousine. The driver door opened, revealing a short, bald man. He took off his sunglasses and headed towards the back door of the limo, opening it and standing beside the door. A man walked out, wearing a fancy black and white tuxedo. He looked similar to Dante, wearing Dante's same bright green eyes and mysterious demeanor. They both shared the same olive tanned complexion and strikingly handsome features. He was a bit older, sprouting some grey hairs in his otherwise gorgeous and black tousled hair. He walked towards us with a grin on his face, his eyes meeting Dante's.
"Ah, Dante, siete in ottima forma, sì?" The man greeted Dante, shaking his hand firmly. (Ah, Dante, you are in excellent shape, yes?)
"Si, zio, piacere di rivederti." Dante replied as he let the man's hand loose. (Yes, uncle, nice to see you again.) Dante turned around towards the rest of us and gave us a curt nod.
"Guys, this is my uncle Rodolfo. Rodolfo, this is Rosie." Dante introduced her and she smiled softly, shaking his hand.
"Good to meet you, Rosie." He greeted as he let go of her hand and Dante continued the introductions.
"Okay, this is Travis, Davina's boyfriend." Rodolfo stopped for a moment and shook Travis's hand.
"Treat my niece well." Rodolfo said and Travis nodded in understanding.
"And lastly, this is my girlfriend, Riley." Dante said as he walked towards me and put his hand on the small of my back.
"My, she is absolutely beautiful, my boy." Rodolfo said as he beamed a bright smile my way and leaned in to kiss my cheek.
"Nice to meet you, sir." I said quietly and he frowned.
"Call me Rodolfo. So I hear your brother and Clay Thompson has gone missing." Rodolfo cut straight to the business and I nodded, biting back tears.
"Zio, if you don't mind I would like to discuss this back at the headquarters." Dante stated firmly and Rodolfo nodded, leading us to the car.
"As you wish."
