"Do you want to go see him today?" Davina said as she jumped on top of my bed and I smiled at her.
"Yes, what time are we going?"
"The guys were thinking around one, but maybe us girls could go an hour earlier so you and Rosie can get your own time?" She asked and I grinned.
"This is why you're my best friend." I said and she chuckled.
"I have something for youuuu." She sang and I cocked an eyebrow as she reached behind her and pulled out a small bottle of orange juice.
"You know me so well." I said and she laughed, handing me the bottle of orange juice and stood up.
"We haven't really talked about it." She said softly and my eyebrows furrowed.
"Talked about what?"
"When you found him and Clay..."
"Oh." I mumbled and cracked open the orange juice.
It's been three days since we found Xavier and Clay in the underground of Russia. After Xavier woke up, he started convulsing and having seizures. Clay never woke up completely. When we dragged them out of there we immediately took them to Rodolfo's hospital base, completely private with the best care. They've been treating the boys as well as they can, but neither of them has woken up from their slumber. Out of the two boys, Xavier had the worst injuries and I assume it's because he has the worst mouth. He doesn't know when to shut up.
Clay was injured badly enough himself. He had disgusting bruises littered across his body, like Xavier's. Clay was missing three fingers on his left hand, his cheek was cut up from a knife. His nose was broken and his cheekbone was fractured. Unlike Xavier, Clay didn't undergo surgery. He had a few fractured ribs and a broken ankle. That's the extent of his injuries- physically anyways.
Xavier, on the other hand... Xavier got it the worst. Xavier's left foot was missing. He had a fractured skull and bleeding on the brain. He underwent surgery in Russia- resulting in one kidney missing, one lung missing, and half of his liver missing. Most of his fingernails were gone, his nose was broken, his cheekbones were broken, and his jaw was fractured. His ribs on his left side were broken, his body was covered in bruises and blood. As I said, Xavier got it the worst...

"I'll be in Clay's room, guys." Rosie said softly and we smiled at her as Davina and I walked in Xavier's room.It felt like my breath was taken away. It's the first time I've seen him since finding him. He has a breathing tube down his throat, he's got wires all across him, an IV in his hand, and a drainage bag next to his bed. He looks deathly sick. His skin is pale, much paler than ever before. He has dark rings around his eyes. The only thing filling the room was a loud, obnoxious beeping that came from his heart monitor.
Davina placed a hand on my back rubbed in small circles, "Are you okay, Ri?" She asked and I sucked in a deep breath.
"I will be."
I walked over next to the bed and sat down in the chair, grabbing his hand in mine. His skin was hot, much hotter than I thought it would be. I felt tears well up in my eyes and I rapidly blinked them away, I'm sick of crying. I rested my head on his hand and I heard the door close. I looked up and realized that I was alone in Xavier's room. I half smiled, Davina always knew when I needed to be alone.
"Bubba... I don't know if you can hear me. The doctor said you might be able to, but we really don't know. I just-... I just wanted to reassure you that I'm still here." I said as I reached up and brushed his hair off of his forehead. His hair had gotten much longer since I saw him last. It was comical, really. He hated his hair touching his neck and that's exactly what it's doing.
"I found a little girl. Her name is Alejandra. She's been staying with us. She only trusts me, no one else. She doesn't have any family left, she's only ten and she's experienced so much pain and heartache... I have a soft spot for her, ironic, right? You know I hate kids." I said with a chuckle as I imagine Xavier laughing at the irony right now.
"She's different... different than any kid I've ever met. She's sweet and guarded, she reminds me of myself." I continued with a smile before I stood up and crouched by his bedside.
"Xavier, please wake up. I can't do this without you. I don't even know who I am without you by my side." I admitted, a couple of tears falling as I speak.
"You're my person. You're the one thing in this world that makes me sane. You make me want to wake up in the morning so I can keep fighting for us, just like you fought for us after we left Richard. You're my inspiration, my role model... bubba you're my hero. I love you, please come back to me." I sobbed into his hand.
Just then his heart monitor began to pick up and I quickly looked at it. It started going higher and higher and I began to become hopeful that he was waking up. A smile plastered across my face as tears freely fell on my cheeks. I looked over at him with a dumb smile, it fell quickly when he began shaking. My eyebrows furrowed and I stood up in shock.
"Xavier!" I cried out as he began foaming at the mouth over the sides of the breathing tube. I smashed the red button to call for nurses over and over as I screamed for Xavier to wake up.
"Somebody help!!!" I screamed as his eyes opened and rolled to the back of his head. Five nurses burst through the door, guiding me out.
I could barely hear what was going on over my rapid breathing and silent screams. But when I heard the doctor speak, I was hit with an instant case of concern.
He spoke to the conference speaker."Get surgery room number three ready, Xavier Wilson is coming in. We can't wait any longer or the bleeding on his brain will expand. He'll die. We have to go!"
