Never Be

Chapter 2

Analiah's POV:
For the rest of the period Kole and I are just talking. "So what are you going to do?" he asks referring to the presentation style. "Oh I don't know maybe PowerPoint. I'm good with those," I say. "Oh," he responds. "Isn't it like against the rules for a student to be in a class with someone their related to?" I ask. "I don't know," he says.

We both walk to Waters and we see the seating chart. I'm in the back and Kole is in the front. I give Karson a thankful smile. Even though his little brother is oblivious, he isn't. "Alright I know seating charts suck, but bear with me. I need to see how you guys act. If you act like civilized humans then no seating chart. If you act like Tarzan then there will be a chart. Also the is a AP science class so I expect no late work and top notch behavior. Given the experience that has a 2% chance of happening," Karson states. "Roll time!" He says. "Mia Aarons?" "Here," Max Arnold?" "Here,"..."Analiah Lowe?" "Here,"..."Kole Waters?" "Here," and he goes on. We then pair up with the person next to us and tell them five things about us. I said: I'm the middle child, i babysit on Friday-Sunday, I'm 17, my birthday is 12/27/97, and my favorite color is red. Once that's done Karson asks for our attention. "Okay so next Wednesday we will have a 'where your at' quiz. It won't count as a grade but try your best because based off the result I'll ask for you to come to tutoring when we go over that subject," he explains. Everyone groans. "Also there will be an introductory project. Meaning there will be groups of two and you will get a topic. Topics range from atoms to space. Every time we start a new unit we will use these posters/PowerPoints/documents/project boards. This will be your first test grade so don't do it 50%. I will pick your partners." and with that he pins up a piece of paper with names. "Find your name then across that will be your partners," he explains. Everyone gets up and I search for my name. I find it and see that my partner is Kole. Well crap. I walk back to my seat and Kole smiles at me and I give him a half smile. Karson then starts giving out topics. Kole and I are stuck with Space. It's easy because it's a basic science theme but it's more then that. One thing that Karson, Kole and I is our interest in Space. Come to think of it Kole and Karson are a lot a like. Kole is sweet, funny, a smart ass, awkward and a social butterfly. Karson is a smart ass, quirky, witty, awkward, and a social butterfly. Karson and my older sister, Alexandrea, we're dating in the beginning of summer. It was a mutual breakup. They both agreed that them dating would 1 make their friendship more awkward and 2 ruin it if something bad happened. So they both called quits.

The bell rings and Karson calls me to his desk. "I'll catch up with you later Ana," Kole says. "Okay see you later," I say. "What the hell is wrong with you?!?" I snap at him. "I thought you wanted to be friends with him again! It looks like he's trying! Why can't you Ana?" Karson asks. "He's not trying! He's just being Kole! He doesn't even remember me! His first words were 'hey I used to know an Analiah' there's not many of us!" I rant. "Oh..." Karson says. I scoff and leave.
