The breeze felt amazing, Dancing across the swordsman's body gently as he lied there in the garden of the assault squad's lovely house. It was mid summer and Sage had the day off, Nat had said something about how he's always working and he needs to calm down. Apparently sunbathing is the way to do that.

His head was rested on his forearms, whilst his left leg was crossed over his right, his eyes were closed as he lied there underneath a tree in the backyard of the squad's home. His jacket sprawled out beside him. His hair draped down across his eyes shielding them from any unwanted light peeking in from the trees above. Levi went away on a mission a few hours ago and Sage was hoping he'd be back soon, despite being a legendary demon dragon he found himself missing the marksman an unbearable amount.

As Sage begin to slip into a light sleep He was disturbed by someone standing over him "So this is what you do on your days off." Opening his eyes he looks up at Karma who's got his arms folded over his chest, a smug smile plastered on his face, as his armour clanks when he steps back allowing the swordsman to sit up properly "You know sleeping outside is dangerous right? Someone could hop over the fence and murder you in cold blood. You are a legendary soul." He says, the sound of Sage's bones clicking as he stretches filling the silence which would've been his response "Takes a lot to kill me Karma, you should know this." Sage responds earning a chuckle from the blonde "I suppose your right. I take it your waiting for Levi to come home." Karma hums as he walks towards the deck chairs he slumps down in them "Actually I was enjoying the warmth of the sun. This is an exceptionally beautiful day, I'm not going to sit inside on a day like this." Sage retaliates as he sits beside Karma who sinks further into the deck chair "Your not assisting Bonita in a insanely difficult training session today?" Sage asks, his eyes glued to the perfect blue sky "She always makes me spar with her and I can't have that everyday, she's so aggressive." He groans, his arms covering his eyes "For a goddess dragon that is." Sage adds, earning a chuckle from Karma who exhales and moves so he too is staring at the blue sky.

Enjoying the warmth of the sun and the light breeze of the wind, I hear a familiar group of rowdy contracted killers enter the house. Looking over to Karma who's sleeping, a light snore escaping him 'How can someone sleep in armour...' shaking the thought out of my head I stand. Entering the kitchen I look at the squad who's taking their gear off "Good mission?" I ask Hugo who throws me a thumbs up and a smile "Good mission" he repeats, laughing I stretch as I walk over to Levi, wrapping my arms around him he laughs "How's your day off been?" He asks, shrugging as I let him go I stand opposite him "I spent the morning sleeping out back and now Karma is asleep in one of the deck chairs. Bonita keeps having him fight with her to demonstrate good techniques to her disciples." I chuckle, hearing him hum he shrugs "How was your mission?" I ask, grabbing his sniper from him as he tries to take his armour off "Well it was a success, we killed the Target but something weird happened." He mumbles, tilting my head I scowl "Something weird?" I ask, hearing him sigh he waves his hand "It doesn't matter, it wasn't really weird" he says as he throws his armour in the closet he stretches "Can we just go nap?" He asks, laughing I nod.

Looking down at Levi who's lied on top of me, his head nestled by my collarbone and his arms wrapped around my torso, a light snore coming from him, just like Karma'. Staring at the ceiling, my hand rested on the small of Levi's back, I feel him shift slightly "Have you been awake this whole time?" He asks as he sits up so he's straddling me I nod "What's wrong?" He mumbles, clenching my jaw I sigh "What was weird in that mission?" I ask, his brows furrowing he tilts his head ever so slightly "Why are you so bothered?" He asks, clenching my fists I lean forward "Fine. We was taking down the target and he said something to Hugo 'You bastards think that was it. Francis is coming. He'll kill your little hero.' It was stupid." He says, looking down I scratch the side of my head "I don't know who Francis is." I hum, feeling his hands move to my cheeks his shakes his head "and you don't need to know, He's probably just some low life wannabe villain who has hopes and dreams to take you down." He retaliates, laughing lightly I move my arms so they are wrapped around his waist "You are such an optimistic person now." I tease hearing him scoff he nudges me before settling back down on my chest "now, get some rest. Sleep is good." He hums, rolling my eyes before closing them I exhale.

(One thousand fifty six years ago)

The festival in Lanarde was big, huge even, hundreds of families were enjoying their time at the planets anniversary festival. Except a young black haired boy dressed in scruffy clothing, a ripped black T-shirt that came down to his kneecaps, and ripped tan shorts. The boy wore no shoes as he ran through the crowds holding to bread rolls "Catch that bastard!" A tall built bearded man shouts as he runs after the youngen. It wasn't long before the bearded man caught the small boys collar and threw him into an alleyway.

With everyone enjoying the festival and minding their own business no one had noticed the bearded man beat the crap out of the young boy, leaving him bleeding and crying on the ground in the alleyway. No one noticed, they minded their own business enjoying their perfect little lives, except for one. A tall half caste woman with black hair and a tall pale finger man slowly walked into the alleyway, a bread roll held out for the little lad who was looking at them now "It's okay... we're not going to hurt you." The ginger man smiles warmly, the black haired woman moving to help the little lad sit up "Are you all on your own out here?" She asks softly earning a nod from the little boy "What's your name?" The man asks "Sage..." he whispers "Sage.. would you like to come home with us? We can give you a home?" The ginger man asks gently, with reluctancy Sage nods and the woman helps him to his feet "Don't worry. No one will hurt you now." She smiles as they walk him out of the alleyway and through the crowds of people.
