Sage's PoV
Standing with Jack, the smaller male dressed in a red and black suit, hoping to appear 'fancy' as he described it. People sauntered into the ball room wearing much fancier and posher suits and dresses.
The frontlines were throwing a ball in honour of two higher-ups getting married. It was practically a beg for an attack but I can't complain. I'm only here to help with the Francis situation after all.
Flattening the creases in my dark green suit, the black long sleeved shirt underneath pressing against my skin. Sighing as Gina walks onto the balcony, Bowing slightly "I would like to thank you all for attending the celebration of Alec and Meredith's wedding!" She announces.
Ah, that's right, Meredith and Alec, two higher-ups in charge of the west. Nice people, I got on with them when I met them back on an old mission.
Tuning out of Gina's big speech for the two, I look down to Jack who's fiddling with his suit jackets buttons "Welcome to a ball, Kiddo. The mingling will start soon, stop with the fidgeting." I chuckle lightly, hearing him laugh quietly he looks down.
Watching Jack anxiously walk up to a young girl wearing a puffy red dress, I grab a glass of champagne from a passing waiter "Your the marksman in the assault squad, correct me If I'm wrong?" Looking to the side at Levi who's stood with Alistair and two random people. The pressed white and black suit perfectly fitted to Levi's body framing every single one of his curves perfectly. Shaking my head I look down "Now, now. The infamous Azure swordsman makes an appearance at such a mundane ball. What a surprise, truly, I feel blessed." Glancing up to a brunette who's stood in front of me "Infamous? Am I that bad?" I ask with a smile, watching her laugh she shakes her head "The worst." She mouths, humming I tilt my chin up slightly before offering my hand out "Sage Kageyama." I state, smiling when she shakes my hand I glance to Levi who's looking "Tilly Marie." She responds.
"Listen, I know your not straight. Your head over heels for that marksman over there right?"
Snapping my attention to her now she smiles "The look gave it away immediately." She chuckles, rolling my head I look down "So, what do you want?" I ask, hearing her hum she shakes her head "Honestly, not much. I like you because of your reputation and the fact you cannot be taken down. For gods sake they fired you and then proceeded to plead for your help. You are what the legends say." She explains, laughing I look down "but I did say not much. See, I may be attending this ball unlike my beat-soldier friends but that's only because my brother is a higher-up." She continues, scowling I listen properly now, placing my champagne on the table "A small price for mentoring me, teaching me... helping me become stronger like he is.. I'll help with the Marksman situation." She finishes, staring at her I look down at the glass "Can a one in a million teach a beat-soldier.." I murmur to myself, flinching when she slams her hands down on the desk "Your Sage Kageyama! You can do anything." She says sternly, staring at her I hum "Fine." I breath.
Watching Jack walk over to me with his shoulders slumped, his brows furrowed and a depressed look on his face "Didn't go to plan, pal?" I ask, laughing when he beams and holds out a phone number "Got you!" He chirps, chuckling I ruffle his hair "Have you not been mingling?" He asks, shaking my head I go to speak but stop as the roof is blown up and a group of people drop in "Evening scum! Your boy Francis stopping by to say bonjour!" Francis shouts, grabbing jack I sprint towards Tilly who grabs the youngen "dad!" He shouts, smiling I crouch "I'll be back, just stay with Tilly." I say sternly before rippling my suit jacket off and running back in.
Watching as people help each other out, I look over my shoulder at the assault squad, Hugo's head bleeding from the debris, holding each other up. Looking back up to Francis I walk towards him "Finally came back, Kageyama." He says, growling I clench my jaw and fists tightly, the wind blowing across my body as blue flames shift to a pitch black one, my scales forming, my fangs emerging like my claws "Black flames... the deadliest of dead." He whispers, sprinting towards him I push my foot against his sword, jumping into the air as I grip the chandelier, his men try to attack me but fail as I dodge their attempts "Picked the wrong moment for this, Olson." I shout, dropping down I send the back of my heel into his back sending him to the ground which quickly changes when he grabs my leg and throws me into a wall "When is there a right moment, Sage." He laughs, standing I glare at him angrily "whilst it's been a pleasure to see and dance with you, Sagio. I only stopped by to ruin the party and check if the rumours were true. That you was back." He laughs before being pulled up by his men, quickly disappearing into the night.
Looking down at my black flames I slam my fist against the wall, anger and rage burning in my chest "That bastard!" I shout.
Pacing back and fourth in Gina's office, my jaw clenched whilst she sits and watches me. No words were spoken clearly due to the rage radiating off of me, looking up when the door opens and the assault squad walk in with Jack and Tilly "Jack" I whisper, grabbing the boys shoulders and hugging him tightly "Was that the guy you told me about?" He asks, nodding I place my hand on his head, looking up at everyone I turn to Gina "They've been terrorising Jistilen since you left. Now do you understand the problem?" She asks, sighing I stand upright now, my left hand rested on Jacks head whilst my right is tucked into my pocket, the metal clanking slightly "Yeah. But before we get down to business I need Leah." I say sternly, watching them nod I exhale.
