Sage's PoV
Stumbling into the headquarters, blood dripping from my abdomen and from my Chin, the sword still impaled as I uneasily make my way to the governors office, opening the door, leaving a bloody handprint on the handle, I look up at the assault squad who are stood in the office with Gina, Bonita and Karma "Oh you've come to apologise?" Natalia asks as she looks up, her eyes widen as I fall to my knee, my jaw clenched "Francis... it's... Francis..." I murmur before falling flat on my chest "Sage!" I hear before everything goes black.
Authors PoV
As Sage gets rushed into the hospital they push him towards the operating room as quickly as possible, the sword still stuck in his abdomen, the assault squad , the governors, Gina, Bonita and Karma all rushing after him until they are stopped by two doctors "He's going into surgery now, you can't go with him." One of them says, Gina growling "As much as I hate to say it, she's right." Gina says as she turns to them all, Levi's face pale as he stares at where Sage has just been rushed in.
"Doctor Morris, This is General Sage Kageyama, stabbed in the abdomen by a Francis Olson. It's important you don't let him die." A nurse says to the surgeon who had just entered the operating room "Alright people. Let's do the best we can to save this young mans life." Doctor Morris shouts at his surgical team "He's over four-thousand five hundred years old, Doctor." The nurse says "Alright people, lets do the best we can to save this gentleman's life!" He repeats before working at on Sage's stomach.
As the squads sit there worrying, Hugo pacing back and fourth, Levi sits in the corner of the room shaking, his face pale, his eyes wide "I... we were fighting about... Francis is a real threat..." he tries to say, his eyes wide as he stares at the ground "No one knew what was going to happen Levi." Natalia says.
Throughout the next few days, the squads and governors visited a comatose Sage in contrast to Levi who never left the side of his bed. Unbeknownst to them all, Sage could hear every single word they say.
It was only natural Levi stayed beside him, He loved him, it doesn't matter if they were fighting, Levi loved him an incredible amount. And seeing him like this, though it does make him depressed and angry, He couldn't leave Sage alone. Especially now that he knows Francis is indeed trying to kill him.
As the squad and Gina and Bonita and Karma Pile In, Levi holding Sage's head with his head lied on the bed the swordsman is laying on "Levi." Hugo murmurs as he places his hand on the marksman causing him to jolt awake "You can go home, we'll look after him." Amanda smiles, the silver haired sharp-shooter shaking his head he tightens his hand in Sage's "I'm not leaving him." He mumbles, the squad sighing and nodding "So he was genuinely telling the truth. We should've known better than to ignore his warning." Balthazar says sternly, everyone sighing except Levi who just stares at the comatose man "My warning..." at the sound of a mumble, everyone threw their attention to Sage.
Sage's PoV
Opening my eyes uneasily, I wince at the harsh pain in my stomach, staring at everyone in the hospital room I look down at my abdomen, lifting the blanket slowly I stare at the bandages wrapped around my entire torso "He.. he got me." I whisper, Levi grabbing my hand I look up at him with furrowed brows "Non of you believed me..." I mumble, pulling my hand up I press it to my chest, they all stare at me with wide eyes "Sage we-" Hugo begins, cutting him off as I clench my hands I lean forward "Out! Get out!" I shout, hearing Levi stand, I glance up slightly at Bonita who's pushing everyone out.
Laying on my back considering I can't really move onto my side or stomach I stare at the ceiling, the sound of the room I'm in's door opening echoing into my eyes I close my eyes and turn my head to the side facing the wall "Your friends haven't left..." I hear the nurse say, clenching my jaw she sighs and places a cup of water on my bedside table "food will be served at six, you have to eat." She says as she turns to leave I place my hand on the wound on my abdomen.
A week later
Standing uneasily in front of the mirror as the nurse unwraps the bandages from my torso, doctor Morris stands and watches with furrowed brows. Watching as the nurse reveals the still pink and painful looking sealed wound that's placed diagonally on my abdomen "that'll scar up nicely." She smiles at me, nodding I scratch my jaw "How are you feeling internally? Any trouble with anything?" Doctor Morris asks as she steps towards me I shake my head "It's just good to be able to stand again. Though it does take a lot out of me." I respond, watching her nod she pulls out the chair for me which I sit down on happily "Well considering your impeccable regeneration skills, that shouldn't bother you for very long." She hums, sighing I nod "Levi comes to the hospital everyday, Sage." She says seriously as she goes to leave I look down, my jaw clenched tightly "Don't push them away for something so small." She continues before exiting the room with the nurse, I look down at the wound.
Walking through the hospital halls, my hands tucked into my hospital clothes pockets, the titanium white hospital shirt I'm wearing too lose for my liking "Should you really be walking?" Looking to my side at the open door of Room thirty-eight I smile at the bed-ridden ex-soldier, walking over to him I sit beside him "I don't think so but how else am I going to get better." I laugh, hearing him chuckle I place my hand on his scarred wrist "I can't believe you was attacked by a group of racist bastard. They could've killed you." I sigh, hearing him sigh as well he shakes his head despite the smile present on his face "There's no way you can rid the world of segregation Kageyama. It's the same with Homosexuality and such." He responds, nodding I lean my chin into the palm of my hand "How are your wounds, Cruele?" I ask, wincing when he lifts his shirts revealing the bruises, cuts and Patches for broken bones "Nothing I cant handle." He smiles, laughing I shake my head.
Cassidy Cruele, an ex-soldier Of the frontlines. Attacked for being black. Not only is this galaxy messed up but it's disgusting. People still bothering about being black, or being different. People still pressing on the idea that liking another mine should be looked down upon. Makes me wonder why I'm protecting it but there's also good people out there. Like Cassidy. If anyone dares question my sexuality I'll kick their ass so hard they won't know what's hit them.
"Are you still being a stubborn bastard to your friends. Are you still being a stubborn bastard to your boyfriend?" He asks, avoiding his stern gaze I hear him exhale "They didn't take you seriously. But they knew that. They regret it, they feel guilty and your only making them feel worse." He continues, leaning forward so my elbows are resting on my knees, my jaw rested in my hands "I can't deal with another threat to them, I can't deal with another threat to Levi. It's too soon." I mumble, looking to the ground when he sits up, wincing very noticeably "You killed someone he loved an incredible amount right? Juanita Roller. Of course he'll want vengeance. You'd want it too if it was him who killed Levi Right?" He retaliates, staring at him now I stand, waving my hand I groan "Your too Optimistic old man. Go back to healing yourself. Get some rest." I murmur as I turn I hear him laugh "Same goes for you , You brat. Stop walking around and do some thinking, you need it." He says as I leave I look down whilst walking back towards my room, my jaw clenched as his words repeat in my mind.
